Porter Goss has a tough decision to make ....
He is presently holding up the CIA report that reportedly names names at the highest level of government. If he releases the report before the election, it may cause Bush to lose? If he doesn't release the report and Kerry wins the election, he is gone. But if he holds the information and Bush wins, then he will remain in his present CIA position and be praised for his loyalty to the pResident. But, if he releases the report and Kerry wins, he would be praised for doing the right thing and would probably remain CIA director under Kerry. So, if he thinks Bush will win, he will keep the report concealed. If he thinks Kerry is going to win, he may release it before the election. This could be the "October Surprise". This could be big! And since most people, including Porter Goss, operate in their own self-interest, he's probably waiting for some sign from God.

1. It shouldn't be up to one man
It should be up to the Congress. They should subpoena him and ask him what the hold-up is.

2. He needs to decide if he thinks shrub will win.
You're right, he might hold the election in his hands. Porter is a shrub appointment, but I heard he was respected by both sides. If he believes shrub could win, he'll keep quiet. If he supports the CIA, he'll release the report.

I guess we'll just have to see.

I get the feeling that even if bush wins, which he wont, all the crap will come out and he wont make it a full 2nd term.

6. Was there ever any proof that Goss was in Operation 40?
It doesn't seem like he's likely to do anything disloyal to BushCo unless he is ordered by subpeona, and maybe then not.
