I don't know if I can stand to watch the election returns on Nov 2 |
|
Help!! I can't decide whether to watch the election returns live or not. This election is so important, and the Republicans so appalling, that if I spend hours watching CNN's live coverage and get all invested in the outcome, I will be absolutely shattered if Bush wins. Plus I can't stand CNN's talking heads and their inane comments and their tendency to whore for the GOP. (I live in Japan and only get CNN... no other US networks.)
So I am contemplating going out somewhere, maybe hiking in the mountains near Tokyo, when the election returns are coming in and then when I get home just check the headlines on Yahoo to see who won. If Bush wins, I will just shut off the news and try to drown my misery in some other activity.
But if I go out, I will be dying of suspense all day until I come home... oh, what should I do??

1. Watch it on public television -- |

-- and have the booze well chilled, because it's going to be a happy night for Kerry-Edwards fans.
Also there's a pretty good shot at grabbing the Senate back.
Invite 750 of your closest friends and live it up.

I much prefer it to the Republican whores in the US. But I can't get it on regular cable here in Japan. I only get CNN (Conservative News Network).
