TUCSON, Ariz. - Two men ran onstage and threw custard pies at conservative columnist Ann Coulter as she was giving a speech at the University of Arizona, hitting her in the shoulder, police said.

University police arrested the men but did not release their identities.

In her half-hour speech Thursday night, Coulter trashed Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry and derided liberals and Democrats while saluting conservative students who attended her speech.

Coulter writes a column for Universal Press Syndicate. Her appearance was sponsored by the UA College Republicans.

19. How Quick To The Discount Racks?

I saw this was being "given away" on the Freeper sites BEFORE the book was released...ROFLMAO. They can't even bulk order their way to relevence anymore!!

A friend who works at a station that was sponsoring a book signing related that they had to cancel when only four people showed in the first 30 minutes for the signing. She went storming to the station manager and wanted him to get on the air to get more people into the store and ranted what a crappy station it was and so on. After another tense 15 minutes, they decided to cancel the remaining 2 1/2 hours! Coultergeist left in a huff and everyone involved was glad the wench was gone.

The guy was going to get on the air and blast her, but decided it would make the station look bad as it targets the wingnuts...plus he didn't know how the corporates would things. Ah, it's a long way down to the bottom! ROFLMAO!!

I do not understand why ANY legitimate venue, whether a university or a mainstream TV show, would even consider putting on someone as demented and dishonest as Coulter.

15-20 years ago, no reputable program would have given her the time of day.
