Have we "turned the corner" to fascsim? Can we turn back if Bush is re-selected?
http://www.oldamericancentury.org/14pts.htm Number 1 is self evident. If you can't connect that to current events then you and Rip Van Winkle just might be related.
When reading this list, remember to add to number 2 -- those three teachers removed from a Bush rally for having the nerve to show up with a "Protect our Civil Liberties" tshirts just this week.
Remember to add to number 3 -- Cheney's latest remarks about nuclear attacks in large cities.
Remeber to add to number 4 -- Pat Robertson's latest (and he said the same thing in 2002 by the way) remarks about Bush claiming that there will be no casualties in Iraq.
Remember to add to number 5 -- All the "sex" talk going on, since the 90's for goodness sake (mostly by the republicans) and yet it appears that most of the scandals these days are about elected republicans (the Virigina senator and his homosexual phone sex resignation for example) as well as republican "surrogates" like Bill O'Reilly's recent problem. Don't forget his statement that he would rip any woman to pieces that went public on him, fight a better and longer legal battle than any woman could withstand -- and yet, yesterday he made an offer to settle the case.
I am sure there are examples on the other side as well (NJ Govenor), but democrats aren't hyperfocused on these issues as are the republicans.
Remember to add to number 6 -- Sinclair Broadcasting and the effects their choices have had on the price of their stock and the support of their sponsors. Seems they are being sued by film makers and stock holders alike.
Remember to add to number 7 -- If it wasn't for 9/11/2001, Bush would have nothing he could talk about in his stump speeches.
Remember to add to number 8 -- Bush just met with a Catholic Archbishop yesterday to attempt to influence the catholic voters with his photo op.
Number 9 and 10 have too much evidence for me to attempt to single out any recent behaviors. I'm sure you can figure those out on your own.
Remember to add to number 11 -- Kerry won the debates BECAUSE he is more knowledgeable than Bush about the issues, he sees the complexity and far reaching effects of each decision he would have to face. Bush lost because he couldn't even appear adult in the first debate, forgot that he shouldn't yell at the audience in the second and clearly had nothing but Iraq and fear to bolster him in all three debates (even though the last two debates should have been about domestic issues!).
Remember to add to number 12 -- Bush constantly reminding us that Saddam is in jail. Enough said!
Remember to add to number 13 -- Bush's "Pioneer" members of his campaign and the funds they contributed. He and Poppa are real, real close with Ken Lay and Lay helped to write Bush's clean air and energy policies. Now that Lay has his opwn "cross" to bear, Bush is pretending that he hardly knew him!
Remember to add to number 14 -- The President of Diebold has promised Bush that he will "deliver Ohio". Jeb and his infamous felons lists and Katherine Harris (who could also appear in the cronyism category as well). Add the republican organization that accepted then trashed "real people's" registrations. (yes, there have been some irregularities with democratic organizations, but they didn't disenfranchise any real people, they just made up names of forms to get more pay. These forms were caught and eliminated -- what about the ones the republicans trashed? They are out of luck completely).

Just posted this on another board -- this is the message we need to get out to the swing voters of the older generation -- the ones that fought and had loved ones die in WWII. They would get this!
