Frank Luntz's advice for John Kerry
he agreed with Pat Buchanan last night that Kerry had little chance of winning. Pat asked Frank, what advice would you give to such a desperate candidate?

Frank said, Kerry should go positive, no attacks against Bush. But said Kerry probably doesn't have the "guts" to take his advice.

What this says to me is that Luntz is TERRIFIED of a coming Kerry onslaught against Bush, which makes me look forward to these last couple of weeks. :-)

6. So how come you gave...
IA, WI, MN and OR all to Bush?

Me thinks we're more likely to lose Florida and pick up 3 of those, than the other way around.

10. Map only intended to show why they need Ohio and Florida so badly.
It doesn't reflect current actual polls.
I am pretty sure we will win Ohio, and as you can see, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa compensate for losing Florida. Not to mention Oregon and NM.

13. You're giving Bush Oregon AND New Mexico?
Not sure about either, and you're giving him both? AND Minnesota AND Wisconsin AND Iowa? And giving Kerry both Ohio and Florida? I'm not really sure of any of these states, either way.

3. luntz and buchanan for advice?
here is why we will blow those bastards away:

1. the 18-24 year old vote is ours
2. the undecided vote is ours
3. we have tremendous newly registered Democratic voters, and this will have us win by at LEAST 5%

SCREW THE POLLS

8. Don't count your chickens yet, still_one
While I agree with your analysis, remember when Howard Dean slipped in the polls right before the Iowa Caucus? The spin his people put out was basically the same 3 things you listed above, only they were going to vote Dean in the Caucus... and, we all know how that turned out.

23. We Should Plan To Win Without the Undecided Voters (and Florida)
> 1. the 18-24 year old vote is ours

I think so. They are getting the message about the DRAFT.

> 2. the undecided vote is ours

I wish it were so, but those who could break for Kerry already
did as a result of the debates. The rest have drunk the kool
aid (they serve it in church these days) and now they cannot
vote for Kerry. Many of the non-religious will be swayed by
the media whoring for Booosh 24x7.

The assumption that undecided voters will overwhelmingly go
for the challenger is entirely based on historic data, but
never before has an incumbent had such unlimited, and all
but unchallenged access to the media and the churches.
Kerry simply has no way to reach any more undecided voters
between now and Election Day. We can win without them.

We need to scale our Get-Out-the-Vote efforts for the worst-case
scenario in which the remaining undecided voters mostly vote for
der shrub, because we cannot afford to lose this election.

> 3. we have tremendous newly registered Democratic voters,

That is what will win it for us if anything does.
That and a Venezuela-style massive turnout!

> and this will have us win by at LEAST 5%

I really hope it is a lot more than that.
5% is close enough for the Repubs to steal,
especially with the help of all these shill polls
that put Boosh ahead.

They can steal Florida no matter how many votes we get there,
Several other states have already seen massive electoral
shenaegans aimed at supressing the Democratic vote.

Early voting has revealed one of the ways in which the touch-screen
machines will steal votes on a massive scale -- they simply, openly,
and brazely record Kerry votes for Bush two times out of three.

4. Luntz is a slimy rethug fake pollster. He pretends to be objective but
his bias towards Bush always comes to the surface sooner or later.

12. Not exactly
Luntz actually can't stand Bush. He wrote a scathing editoral attacking him about a week ago. Luntz is pretty smart although I disagree with him here.

14. ROFLMAO!
You ARE joking, aren't you? Luntz is a slime ball and adviser to the repubs. His 'focus groups' are a joke and his credibility is nil.

16. Luntz is a Republican pollster. He takes his cue from Karl Rove.
Edited on Fri Oct-22-04 11:00 AM by oasis
He was a proud Republican pollster a few years back. He shaved his beard and returned to the scene with a new label, " political pollster".

19. good enough for me!
never mind that he's a professional push-pollster and that his clients are republicans, and that his focus groups are a sham. All he has to do is write an anti-Bush editorial and bingo! I forget everything I know about him and suddenly he's credible.

22. Um, No...
Let's assume you're right, and Luntz really does hate Bush. It doesn't matter, because Bush is a Republican, and Luntz wants the Republican to win...

As for that article you speak of, if it's the same one I read, he was pointing out (or rather bemoaning) the fact that Bush is in trouble, and was providing advice for pulling this thing out.

I do agree with you here: Luntz is not a stupid man...

15. Frank Luntz: "Will poll for food!"
Frank Luntz is a fat, smelly little GOP yard gnome.

My favorite recollection of the 2000 sElection was when MSGOP first announced that Florida had gone to Gore (yes, they were right the first time), Luntz looked like someone had just handed him a steaming bowl of dogshit and a spoon. He was white as a sheet and could barely speak. He looked like he was going to faint. His whole act about being the happy, objective poll-meister just crumbled right before the camera, revealing the ugly, scowling little partisan pitbull beneath.

I hope to God that they will hire him to do his running commentary this season so I can see that again.

Yep, sounds like LUNTZ has the ticket: PRAISE Shrub all-get-out, tell the voters that Shrub is WONDERFUL. Yup-yup, that'll work.

they still are failing to identify Luntz properly, and are still portraying his analysis as objective.
