I keep checking every news site every 10 minutes to see the latest poll numbers.

Through all this rancor I just can't reconcile myself to the fact that Bush might get elected. I can't take it, so I keep looking for signs of reassurance.

Lots of us need to take a break from this election to retain our sanity.

Go see a funny movie or do something to get your mind off it, even temporarily. It's a necessary mental health break.

We've got to stay in good mental shape in case there's hard work to be done to ensure that Kerry gets inaugurated.

Go volunteer, they will tell you the poll numbers while you stuff envelopes or whatever.

4. Here's your reassurance:

First and foremost, POLLS ARE BIASED AND ABSOLUTE HORSESHIT.

Secondly, it has already been discussed many, MANY times, both here on DU and elsewhere, that many Kerry supporters are young and do not have land lines. They have CELL PHONES which just aren't called for polling purposes. That automatically gives Kerry an extra couple percentage points, minimum.

Finally, if you just can't get away from polls, may I suggest Zuma? It will keep you absorbed, possibly to the point of total obsession, if you like games even a little bit.

8. Here's my suggestion:

Go to http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/election-test-fl,0,1851284.flash

Make your own electoral prediction map. Use the polls on the map (move your cursor over a state to see the latest numbers) and give the state to Kerry if the sum of his current number plus 2/3 of the undecideds puts him ahead. Even with the bias of many of those polls, you'll see that he's going to win!

Have fun listening to "Hail to the Chief" over and over again in Kerry's honor! :D
