McCain Again Undercuts Bush Attacks
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - President Bush, in a new line of criticism aimed at Sen. John Kerry, said Friday the choice in this presidential race boils down to who can keep American homes safer from terrorists and contended his opponent was not up to the task during wartime.

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., said Friday he disagreed with Bush's assertion that Kerry had "a fundamental misunderstanding" of the war in Iraq but affirmed his support for Bush as better qualified than Kerry to lead the United States in the war on terrorism, which McCain called "the transcendent issue of our time."

11. That pictures says it all
Thanks for posting that. I hadn't seen that before. People don't even need to put a thought bubble (or whatever they are called) above John McCain, his look says it all!

6. Watch him carefully on tape when you see him
He's blinking out some sort of message in morse code.

My morse reading skills aren't what they used to be, but the message seems to have something to do with his wife and family.

3. I'm sorry.. how can a 2-bit, slacker governor of Texas be more qualified?
I just don't fucking get it!??? McCain? What do you CITE as Bush's UNIQUE qualifications??? HE FUCKING HAS NONE!!! He's a failed business man, a poor student, he only watches football on tv, doesn't read, never travelled before being President, was the governor of Texas (and screwed THEM up good!). So tell me.. Mr. McCain, HOW does that compare with a man with decades of experience in the Senate, experience as a prosecutor, experience in foreign policy, experience in our military? HOw does that compare?? It's DOESN'T. You're just whistling out your ass. Bush has no unique qualifications for this shadowy, ill-conceived "war on terror".

4. Bush is a Republican, McCain is a Republican
Do the math. McCain wants a future in the party and he knows if he ditches Bush, he's finished in the GOP. It's sad that he can't put patriotism over ambition (especially after what Bush did to him in 2000, plus there is no way he doesn't realize that Kerry is better). But there you have it.

7. He's Putting His Political Interests Ahead of His Convictions
It is sad to watch. But I am glad that he at least has the fundamental decency to reject Bush's cheapest tactics.

12. While I know your questions are rhetorical
As we all know, McCain's been offered the next GOP candidacy if he plays along.

and mccain looked like he really hated being there. bush was doing some good ole boy act with his laughing and joking and putting his arm around mccain and mccain just looked disgusted.

10. McCain Is A Pretty Sociable Guy, Too
I've seen him yucking it up at the Daily Show. It wouldn't be hard for him to turn it on if he wanted to.

during the debate and even after. he wanted mccain to meet his family also.

and we have seen him with kerry and other democrats and he gets along great with them as he does with republicans except bush.

24. I agree
I just can't believe McCain would be doing any of this otherwise. You just don't stand up for a guy who smeared you the way Bush did, not against someone like Kerry, it makes no sense.

15. Trash in the Garbage?
Hey, listen I am fervently opposed to anyone touching Roe v. Wade, but I'm not going to call McCain a piece of trash for (half-heartedly) supporting his party.

It is unfortunate, but I wouldn't exactly put it in the "scumbag" category.

never invited him to Az. I have visited his home only once. It is not as if we were friends". This is a complete turnaround from his protestations of earlier "friendship". McCain has no morals. He dumped his first wife and married Cindy for her money. Notice how the press never mentions THAT but are fixated on Theresa's money! He was a member of the notorious Keating Five that screwed the retirees out of their money and he has one of the most RW voting records in the Senate. McCain would sell his grandmother for a buck. If he is uncomfortable, it is because he isn't the nominee and is jealous of Bush. No doubt he hates to kowtow to him, but he will do whatever it takes. But he is NOT suffering from being forced to compromise himself because he doesn't have any morals. He isn't protecting his family either because he indicated long ago ,he doesn't give a damn about them. I often wonder why Cindy doesn't dump him. Now that is an interesting question and more curious than what Bush has on McCain!

16. I don't think McCain has been promised the nomination in '08, I think B*sh
has threatened to harm his children in some way. Or his wife. I don't mean physically, though. I don't know. I don't think it's the nomination, though, and it is obviously not McCain's convictions that are keeping him near Junior. He looks just like people here have said -- like he can't wait to escape. There's just something very wrong here, but I don't think McCain has sold out for political gain. We know how vicious B*sh really is. Not to mention his followers.

It's just MHO.

20. Don't you feel the fucking rage yet? Their outright lies reported as truth
The arrogance and smugness while they are stealing votes in machines, tear up voter registration...they own this fucked up media, have all the corporate money they need, yet they know they still must lie, cheat, steal and smear. They refuse to release CIA 9-11 documents, Cheney's energy policy documents...Are you sick of it yet?

Well, MSNBC finally got their labels right. They had him on a few minutes ago and listed him as a Republican pollster! It is about time. THey keep trying to pass him off and unbiased.
