I've been a Democrat for a long time, though I have never been as involved in politics before. I am doing what I can to get out the senior vote.
This year there is tremendous opportunity for young people to influence an important election. There is a huge increase in youngsters registering for the first time. The overwhelming majority of new young voters are pro Kerry. If we can get these people to the polls we win for sure.
When I was young, I preferred dealing with other young people, and I suppose today's youngsters feel the same. Do what you can to get other youngsters out there to vote, you may be responsible for returning decent govt to the US.

we took our two townships for Gene McCarthy. The co-chairs of our campaign were one 80-year old retiree and one 13-year old junior high student. (I was the strategy consultant at 26). The junior high kids were our door-to-door shock troops. They might not have been able to vote, but they could make a difference! And they were especially effective with the seniors we met. People of all ages and all kinds working together -- that's what moves the world forward.
