Can I pay someone to vote Democratic? |
|
Almost everyone in my large family is voting for Kerry and voting the Democratic party line on Nov. 2nd. However, I have a nephew (20-something) who has designated himself as the Black Sheep of the family.
I don't know if he has a grudge on someone in the family or if he's trying to make a name for himself, but he has boasted that he will be voting for BeelzeBush. Everyone in the clan is very upset. This is a 22-year old who obviously has nothing to gain from voting the wrong side.
I would like to buy his vote for $50.00. He's broke and without a job, so I think he might go for it. He might even negotiate a bigger selling price.
What's the harm?
Besides, I've read that the Rat-publicans have been bribing homeless people with money & 6-packs of beer to vote Republican. No difference, in my opinion.

3. I believe that would be against the law |
|
Don't do it! Give him the money he needs and tell him to vote for whoever he wants. That's what a free country is all about.

5. NO -- but here's what you CAN do! |
|
go vote early, then keep him from voting. Invite him over for lunch and get him drunk or something

You might also mention the draft. |
|
Ask him how he feels about taking a bullet for Halliburton.

Of course, it's against the law and you could go to jail, but you can do it.

7. There was a story just yesterday about a kid that |
|
tried to auction his vote on E-bay. The feds are going after him even though his father said it was just a joke. The Feds said they have to send a message to people kidding or not that votes cant be bought and sold. I just wish the Feds would police our public officials as efficiently.

How do you know he'd do it? He could just take your 50 bucks and vote Bush anyway. A better option may be for you to vote in advance, then offer to give your nephew a ride to the polls and take the long way -- the very, very long way. ;)

Buy him a duffelbag at the Army-Navy store and tell him "good luck in Iraq" when you give it to him.

12. OK, everyone. I got the message. |
|
(in particular, now that I've broadcast this fact all over the Internet).
I'll try some other tactic.
