Why the FUCK hasn't Kerry said that
BUsh was asleep at the switch and that he failed to do his duty on 9/11?

He should repeat this often and loudly and include Bush and the Saudis, the August 6th, PDB, and Condi's lies post 9/11 where she said that we had no idea that we were gonna be hit.

WHY?

Now is the Time to hit Bush over the head HARD on this, Kerry has to be as vicious as the Repukes are and ATTACK.

1. I've been yelling about this
for a while now. I think people think I have a screw loose or something. But hey, IT HAPPENED ON HIS WATCH! HE FAILED US ALL! Why can we not say this? I do not understand either. Someone said well, cause they don't really know WHAT happened that day. To that I say Hooey. Hooey hooey hooey. Read the 911 Commission report. It does not let him off the hook. To me, this is the most glaring point we have. Why not use it? BTW, some are starting to hint at it. None have come right out and said it though (at least that I've seen or heard).

2. Exactly
The point is simple IT HAPPENED ON HIS WATCH. PERIOD.

We always talk about how the Repukes use simple easy to understand concepts to gain an advantage "Scary Kerry" "Flip Flopper" etc.....Why the hell can't we do the same thing. I'll say it again:

IT HAPPENED ON HIS WATCH!!!!!!!!

August 6th PDB
28 pages
Condiliar

Now is the Time for Kerry to make a splash on this NOW!

10. Did ya see it??
Did ya see it??

On McLaughlin Group (PBS) Lawrence O'Donnell said it!!! YES!! And he immediately got JUMPED, I mean JUMPED, by that stuffed toad Blankly and Pat Buchanan. And then McLaughlin changed subject immediately.

I think they're testing the waters. I say, we have the truth on our side, stand up and say it! Just SAY it!

14. O'Donnell went ballistic over Bushco saying that Kerry can't protect
America. The ads. He started on how it was Bushco who wouldn't discuss everything with Richard Clarke and others who knew it was coming...he was really exploding!!!!!!! He said 911 happened on THEIR WATCH, 3000 people died, and they DID NOTHING!

3. In the words of Wes Clark,
"The TRUTH is,......and I'm going to say it!
9/11 COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED!!
I know no one wants to say it, I know John (Kerry)_ doesn't want to say it!
But I"m saying it! It could have been prevented and a DIFFERENT LEADER WOULD
HAVE PREVENTED IT!
GW may prance around in an aircraft carrier, but if you're in the Navy and your
ship runs aground in a harbor,...You're fired!"

4. As a matter of fact.....
Kerry complimented Bush how he acted after 911 during one of the debates.....DISGUSTING!

NO WONDER BUSH HAS A LEAD IN JUST ABOUT EVERY POLL!

I agree with Bill Maher....Kerry will lose because he is not tough enough with Bush.

8. email the campaign
...if enough people comment we may be able to get Kerry to demand the report be released.

bush ignored Sandy Berger
bush ignored Hart-Rudman Commission
bush ignored Richard Clarke
bush ignored George Tenet's hair on fire
bush ignored all the countries that warned him

before 9/11
the night before Bush had surface to air missiles on the roof of his hotel in Sarasota Florida
Top pentagon officials cancelled their flights
Condi warned Mayor Willie Brown to not fly to New York that day

THEY PROTECTED THEMSELVES BUT DID NOT CARE ENOUGH TO PROTECT THE CITIZENS OF THE US

THAT SPELLS IMPEACHMENT

13. B/c that only pleases the base
I agree with the statement. But the truth is that many undecided voters see Bush as being a good leader on 9-11 and don't want to blame him for it. It doesn't matter if WE think Bush is responsible - they don't, and their reaction to ANYBODY trying to imply that ANYBODY is responsible for 9-11 unfortunately turns a lot of people off.

I would rather focus on Iraq and Bush's strategy at Tora Bora - issues that people are far more uncomfortable with and more open to persuasion. I'd rather win over these people rather than lose them.

15. We get the Mclaughlin Group on Friday and Lawrence O'Donnell ...
Edited on Fri Oct-22-04 09:37 PM by Pepperbelly
brought up this very point as forcefully as I have heard it done. I suspect that Lawrence might want to walk the corridors of power again as a participant rather than a reporter. He was quite good and when both Blankley and Buchanan tried to talk over them, he started literally declaiming his words, like a stage actor.

Refreshing.

He also used the word "liar" several times during his declamation. Good for Lawrence. I reccomend watching it when it comes up in your area, just for those O'Donnell moments.

17. BUSH KNEW AND HE DID NOTHING!
The American people need to be reminded, well and often, to counter the pro-Smirko media environment.

Here are a few images:

Heh heh heh. I kin read better'n'that.

America is under attack.

There goes my vacation.

And seven minutes of doing nothing go by as a hijacked plane heads for the Pentagon.

18. I think it's too late - too risky - we should've done it from day one.
The way to beat your opponent is to take away his strongest quality, the way the Repubs/SwiftVets went after Kerry's Vietnam record.

We should've shattered the "Bush is a strong leader" myth a long time ago by attacking him for ignoring warnings before 9-11, for his imperialist NEOCON foreign policy, for playing politics with national security, for Saudi connections, etc. Everyone in America should know what a neocon is by now! Dems should be able to just say the word "neocon" and make Bush's poll numbers drop a few points, they way Repubs have done to Dems in the past with the word "liberal".

But the campaign - which is being run by wimpy, pointy-headed establishmentarians - played softball for most of the year, which is why we are only tied now, hoping to pull it out at the last second.

21. I agree with that
I also wonder if Clinton won't be used to make this point next week, keeping Kerry out of it. True, Clinton would be assailed by the GOP and blamed as the true 9/11 culprit, but I doubt they could be as nasty or as effective given Clinton's health situation.

Clinton could stress he told Bush during the transition that AlQueda was America's biggest concern, and Sandy Berger & staff emphasized the same thing to Condi. The August 6 memo and a complete lack of any major terrorism speeches/meetings prior to 9/11 can be used as evidence Bush completely ignored the warning, in favor of tax cuts and missile defense.

19. Kerry has been saying this
The press are selective in what they report. They report anything that makes chimpy look good and conveniently overlook strong statements from Kerry.

Write to the media outlets. Tell them how angry you are with their biased reporting. Tell them to start reporting what Kerry is actually saying, and not what Rove says Kerry is saying.

22. The killer, obvious point to me
The August 5 PDB said bin Laden was determined to strike in the US, and his plans might include hijacking commercial aircraft.

How much brains would it have taken to put the airliners, NORAD, etc on high alert? I'm sure the attack would have been thwarted, or substantially blunted. Whether or not the attack could have been thwarted, what is the excuse for not taking those obvious, easy actions?

PLUS--not only did Bushie sit around for 7 minutes after learning there was an attack taking place that minute, I hear that he hung around after leaving the classroom to have his picture taken with the teacher, answer questions from the press. One of the reporters ever asked him, mr president, do you know what's happening in new york?--Bush just shrugged it off
