The horrendous tape of the CARE director pleading for her life, I mean. I can't listen to it without weeping.

She is a HUMANITIARIAN worker, for God's (literally) sake.

This is what Bunny has wrought, and we know it isn't the first case of humanitarian workers being kidnapped.

It's just wrong to use it, but this is the kind of thing that demonstrates with no room for spin what a disaster Iraq has become.

After all, the only way to stop the rampantness of it all is to get the hell out of there, and only JFK has any incentive now to get us out, even if it will take a while.

Even though she's lived in Iraq for thirty years, she's still a Brit to the kidnappers, and they're so pissed about the UK acquiescing to Boy George's request to move their troops so that US troops are free to move to other inane and worthless and deadly operations.

They'll kill her. I just have this awful feeling. I think they'll kill anyone to make their case.

I will never have to prove this, but I'd like to think that if my country were overrun by invaders, I'd kill anyone I had to to get them out of my country.
