Mo’ Mo Mo' Voters -- I was listening to Notorious B.I.G. today
Edited on Wed Jan-14-04 01:41 AM by AP
And got inspired. OK, it sucks. But it was too easy. Couldn't just delete it. So here it is, for your scorn and ridicule, with apologies to Mace, Puffy and Biggy:

Mo’ Mo Mo' Voters

{Verse One: AP}

Now, who's hot who not
Tell me who rock who turns them out on the campaign stop
You tell me who flopped who copped the blue drop
Who message got robbed who's mostly going down
Who roll up his sleeves, the same ol pimp.
Edwards: you know ain't nuttin change but his haircut
Can't stop till I see him president
Guarantee 70 million votes, pullin all the love
You don't believe in Robbins World Senator
Double up, we don't play around it's a bet lay it down
Voters didn't know him two-thousand bet they know him now
He’s the young tarheel lawyer with the Goldie sound
Can't no M.D. governors hold him down
Bubba schooled him to the game, now he knows his duty
Stay humble stay low, blow like Hootie
True presidentials spend no dough on the booty
And then ya yell there go Edwards, there go your cutie

I know what they want from me
It's like the more mo we come across
The more votes we see
{repeat 2X}

{Verse Two: Edwards}

Yeah yeah, ahaha, from the E-to-the-D-to-the-W-A-R-D-S
know you'd rather see me die than to see me fly
I call all the shots, rip all the spots, rock all the rocks, cop all the drops
I know you thinkin now's when all the votin’ starts,
Edwards never home, got one in Georgetown and a one in Raliegh
Eight years from now we'll still be on top in the White Hizzy
Yo, I thought I told you that we won't stop
Now whatcha gonna do when it's cool
Bag a term much longer than Bush's and a team much stronger than they
Violate me, this'll be our day, we don't play
Mess around be G.O.P., be on your way
Cause it ain't enough time here, ain't enough lime here for you to shine here
Deal with many people but treat them fair
And I'm bigger than the city lights down in Times Square
Yeah, yeah yeah

I know what they want from me
It's like the more mo we come across
The more voters we see
{repeat 2X}

{Verse Three: Notorious B.I.L.L.}

Uhh, uhhh
B.I.G., D.-O.-G.
No info, for the, GOP
Federal agents mad cause I'm a democrat
Tap my cell, and the phone in the oval office
My team supreme, stay clean
Except Cisneros, he be set up
Cat you see at all events bent
Votes in pockets voters locked it
Playboy, I told ya, bein’ nice to me
Bruise too much, I lose, too much
Step on stage the Fox bimbettes boo too much
I guess it's cause they run with lame dudes too much
Me lose my touch, never that
If I did, ain't no problem to get the vote back
Where the true voters at?
Throw your ballots in the sky
Wave em side to side and keep your hands high
While I give your girl the eye, player please
Lyrically, see, D.O.G.
be flossin jig on the cover of C.Q.
Five double oh, get the phone number, your name, I got to know, I got to go
Got the flow down phizat, platinum Edwards
Like thizat, dangerous on trizack, leave your ass kizzack

I know what they want from me
It's like the more mo we come across
The more voters we see
{repeat 3X}
What's goin on?
What's goin on?
I know what they want from me
It's like the more mo we come across
The more voters we see
{repeat 3X to fade}

5. Nice...good work...you know Biggie would be out on the campaign trail
today......

I can only hope that the rest of the hip/hop world motivates enough to force change on those that we often profess against in our lyrics.

Read the last week's cover article on Russell Simmons voter registration drive in the "Village Voice", perhaps we'll win this one with music after all. It's a good idea to think about...

Keep up the work AP
