In Ohio, can voters who are illegally disenfranchised sue |
|
the GOP as well as the individual challenging the vote and recover damages, if the GOPer acted in bad faith. Is there any cause of action that would lead to that sort of recovery?
Here's my idea, if there is a way to attack the Republicans where it hurts it might keep them honest on Election Day.
Any thoughts?

1. First, you have to prove you were disenfranchised illlegally. |

I sincerely hope people have been dumpster diving around those Sproul organizations who have been caught ripping up voter registration cards from Democrats. That is one way a class action suit for fraud and civil rights violations can be brought. You can put that bastard out of business permanently that way. If you can't find the cards, it will be much harder to prove, since even if their workers testify to that, they can't prove specific people were disenfranchised, and it will become a "he said she said" type of case.
Since people have come forward in multiple states alleging this sort of bias on the organization's part, there may be a chance of shutting them down in future elections. However, they won't pay damages and they will simply find another way to stay in business.

2. If you plan to sue for the voter registration cards being ripped up |
|
you better be able to prove that it was the repugs that did the ripping. Remember this, a repug could just as easily tear up repug voter cards and throw them in the Dems dumpster. Just showing torn cards and claiming that the repugs did it is not going to be enough evidence that they did. Even though we are sure that they did.
