Freepers love John Stewart[NOT]
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1253767/posts

Actually, I disagree on one thing. I've never found Stewart funny in the least. His talk show sucked. I've never even smirked at anything he's ever said. Sad how his smarmy excuse for wit is the political commentary of today. This guy couldn't carry PJ O'Rourke's jock.

I agree with your assesment. Stewart isn't funny. The daily show WAS funny, but that was with craig kilborn. With stewart, it's just pathetic.

Stewart's definitely over-rated. I will occasionally stop on it. The only memorable clip to me was the announcing of the
new Iraqi currency, finishing with "However, the jury is still out on the Susan B. Anthony one dinar coin..."

Of course he shouldn't be taken seriously! He's a comedian.

He has his moments, but it's not as if he's a roaring bag of hilarity.

Good god he's on the comedy channel.

Whenever I watch Stewart's show I'm always left with the impression that he and his cohorts might as well just get done on their knees and scream into the camera, "PLEASE, for the love of God and all that's decent in the universe, PLEASE, don't vote for Bush!!!" It really has become that transparent...

1. The smarter the viewer, the funnier Jon Stewart is to him or her.
Hence, this is why Freepers don't find him funny! :D

2. Stewart isn't funny, unless you are relatively smart!
That alone eliminates the freepers.

5. Freepers don't watch Jon Stewart
And studies show those who watch TDS are more informed on the issues. Do I sense a relation to these two facts?

Those inbreds can't even step back far enough from their own circle-jerking to realize that the system itself kind of sucks. No pride here. We play the game to win damnit, but the game does need to be satirized ... and re-tooled.

Plus, beyond simpleton redneck jokes, they got no sense of humour. Not the kind of cerebral kind that Stewart whips out.

16. Stewart's show assumes its viewers are already educated and...
up on the issues. It does not teach or bring viewers up to speed.

This is why dumbya's freepers don't find it funny. They aren't up to speed. They aren't well educated either.

educated as to what is going on in the world, you won't get the show. No WONDER why they don't get it.

18. You have to love a Freeper that asks
"Who takes him seriously?

Good god he's on the comedy channel."

But forgets that was exactly Jon's point on Crossfire when the freepers beloved Hannity got handed his ass for trying to ask why Jon wasn't going after Kerry harder on his show.

25. JOHN STEWART
What is interesting about John is that he seems to carry such credence with the mainstream media. I generally avoid most of the mainstream media and for sure the major networks, and if i ever watch any political coverage it is either Saturday Night Live or the Comedy Channel. What is interesting about comedians is that in general they "See thru Bulls**t" pretty quickly. Penn and Teller had an interesting series titled Bullsh*t which took on a lot of dubious topics and reduced them to the essential oils and then torched them up. P & T have the added advantage of being Magicians, which really helps them "See thru Bulls**t" even better.

The point is this administration has become a huge joke. A very bad joke. With a witless leader. Why else would anyone care what comedians thought?

broad audience appeal. Who gets more $$$$ for ad space, we have to speak in terms of neoconservatives. Money talks BS walks, speaking of the has been, anyone know how Dennis Millers show is doing these days?
