Wohoo! I haven't had one published that I know of since the one that caused the creepy fundy letter quoting scripture about obeying our leaders and slaying the enemy and such.
Here it is, hope it's accurate.
The world is full of terrorists
The Oct. 13 letter said "Fight the terrorists on their land." What does that even mean? The terrorists are everywhere - in England, Canada, Saudi Arabia, even right here in the United States. What kind of argument is it to say we should fight the terrorists in Iraq? It doesn't even make any sense.
Who are we fighting in Iraq?
First, we're fighting Sadr militants, the people from Sadr City, formerly Saddam City. Those are the poor people of Baghdad who had been treated so horribly under Saddam. We're killing the same people we went to liberate, along with other Sadr militants from other Shi'ite regions of Iraq.
Second, we're fighting Sunnis. They are the minority Islamists in the country and are fearful of a U.S.-controlled government that might give more power to the Shi'ites.
And we have the leader Ayad Allawi, who recently called for Ba'athists to be brought back into the government. Saddam was a Ba'athist. The Syrian leader is a Ba'athist. Allawi is a Ba'athist.
Don't confuse the mess in Iraq with the war on terror. There are terrorists in Iraq, but they aren't the whole of the problem at all. We could subdue Iraq tomorrow and it would have absolutely no effect on terrorism. There are terrorists all over the world in all kinds of groups. We can't declare war and send in the troops in every country where they exist.
Any president who would dupe the American people on the most serious issue facing us doesn't deserve to be president. It's that simple.

Thank you for doing what is one of the most important parts in keeping democracy alive. Letters to the editors are one of the most influential parts of every newspaper in the final weeks before an election. I believe that yours will make people think ..... and that is what is required for our country to survive.

I wish someone, anyone, would say this on television during primetime.
