I keep hearing that Kerry is going to get hurt by an article on Monday
Anybody have info on this.

A freeptard on another board says Kerry is going to get hurt by an article released in a major Newspaper monday.

I can't see how since Bush has been proven to be an incompetant liar over and over and over yet again but he still pulls about 47% approval.

Anybody have a take on this?

11. Washington Times? How Typical
I think it was a Monday ed. sometime in October in 1992 that the Washington Times made the ridiculous "Clinton trip to Moscow" story. An attempt was made from "Vietnam Veterans" of Congress in a wee hour Special Orders session, to be seen on C-SPAN where Bob Dornan, Randy "Duke" Cunningham and others made a big deal promoting this lie.

The difference, this time, is that there's a media that will probably try to run away with it (just like the SBVT). The goal is to debunk it ASAP. And I would not refrain by also pointing out the Moonie Newsletter that the Washington Times really is. Why should other news sources even pay attention to this rag?

16. The Gist
Kerry was answering a question posed to him about whether or not U.S. forces should use flamethowers or napalm to attack the caves in Afghanistan where Bin Laden or Taliban fighters may be hidden.

He said he thought the U.S. forces were doing a fine job without using those measures.

This ( according to wingers) shows that his criticism of how chimpy conducted things in Afghanistan is disingenuous because, see, he praised their actions on T.V. before. See what a flip flopper he is? See? See?

It's stupid, it's out of context, and it's nothing.

Forget about it.

Edited on Sat Oct-23-04 09:22 PM by uhhuh
Since my post had nothing to do with Iraq.

If I said the question was during the fighting in Afghanistan in 2001-2002, would that help?

12. I KNOW it's nothing to worry about--here's why.
1. Washington Times--The media whores don't respect it because of the Moon connection.

2. Someone who knows what it is (a hardcore rightwinger) said it was "Not huge, but interesting."

3. It deals with a foreign policy criticism by Kerry of Bush. In other words, it is the wingnuts trying to play defense--which is not in Bush's game plan.

Pass it on.

Which he mentioned during one of the debates in front to little controversy. If that's it, it'll be a dry heave.

22. Maybe Fox already has the story. Just said Clinton to be UN Ambassador
Flipping through channels, stopped when I heard Fox discussing Kerry's planned appointments (wonder if JFK knows about them yet?) and the big one was Clinton was to be the next Ambassador to the United Nations and that Bill wanted the job so as to give the U.N. a "makeover". If all fails next week, drag out Bill Clinton. The right seems to think America hates him. Well his BJ never cost one American life! Bush lies have caused tens of thousands!

30. I believe it's a new TV ad based on Kerry's vote against the $87B
Been looking for the link since this morning, but I read an article by Morton Kondracke on Realclearpolitics in which he said an ad was being developed with footage of Kerry during a TV interview saying that anyone who voted against the $87B wasn't fit to hold office.

32. Remember that Clinton will be campaigning on Monday
They will definitely do something to try to steal his thunder. Even if the "big story" is later proven to be nonsense, they need to get the public distracted.

This story about the Kerry's response to the "flame throwers" question was dropped by Mickey Kaus around Thursday last week. Since that time, numerous bloggers have pointed out that Kaus obviously hadn't read the whole transcript.
