Anybody just see the Republican pollster on Geraldo who is "worried"?
First let me say that I almost never look at Faux, but I was channel surfing and a Democrat pollster was talking so I listened. Then Geraldo asked his counterpart, the Republican, about his take on the election as of today, and the Republican pollster said he was worried, because Bush should be ahead by a lot more by now. Said he thought Bush would have widened his lead at this point, and not have it narrowed to the point where there is a statistical tie. This guy looked sick. And I mean sick like he was about to heave.

Obviously the internal polling does no look good for Bushboy. It made my night.

The Democrat said it was too close for comfort for him, too, but that Kerry is trending up and at this point, and with W's approval numbers below 50%, Kerry just has to seal the deal in the next week.

2. There is no such thing as a "Democrat pollster" except among Republicans.
Democrats refer to a "Democratic pollster" who is a member of the Democratic Party.

8. It must have been on my brain, since underneath his name it read...

"Democrat Pollster". But, you're right he's the Democratic dude. I think it was Barry Goldwater who began the "Democrat Party" thing and the Republicans have worked very hard to put that into the lexicon over the past 40 years.

11. Right. Every time you hear that noun used as an adjective, you know
it's a repug doing the blabbering. Intentional or just plain stupid? Either way, they suck!

3. It all depends on what the media wants.
The media have kept this race artificially tight for a long time.

Now, it's up to them. The media, not the voters will decide this election.

7. Not this time. The voters will be speaking loud and clear.
If the right wing media was being as effective as were were fearing, the race would not even be close. With Kerry pulling ahead everywhere, just shows the American public has opened it's eyes.

5. Thanks for the good news. A sick repug is ALWAYS good news.
Did you get a name? Just curious how "connected" this hack is.

13. I didn't hang around long enough for names. But I didn't recognize him.
That's why I think he may be doing internal polling. He really looked like he knew something and it was bad news for Bush.

I've known Bush is definitely going to lose this election for at least the last year, but thought I'd mention what was going on over at Roger Ailes' Mad Playhouse. I love to see depression on their faces.

9. Like Ive said , if its tied or even close. It means Kerry wins .
The polls are off about 10 pts. Both ways. In other words if they say its 50-50 its actually 55-45 Kerry.

12. I have a feeling its kept close to keep media veiwership up.
When its close its much better for ratings. Corps run media, corps run polls.

14. I caught the last part of this where the Repug was asked what Kerry had
to do to seal the deal... The guy said he's doing it now...(clip of Kerry tossing a ball with Vanessa)--doing things that make him look like a regular guy, one the one I heard....

16. Over the past few days
I've noticed pundits starting to talk about the huge increase in voter registration, first-time voters, cell-phone owners and other factors that could skew the polls.

Sounds like CYA time to me.

17. Yea' just a little but important grammar correction
There is no Democrat anything. Democrat is a noun. When you say Democrat Pollster you are using a noun to modify a noun. Every time I hear some repuke say this or write it, I email in pretending to be an English teacher and telling him "I'm surprised a journalist doesn't know the difference between a noun and an adjective."

Democratic candidate Kerry

Democratic President Elect Kerry

Democratic President Kerry

19. I think one thing they're seeing is the
young college age voters coming like a tidal wave. There's never been anything like the numbers this election is generating.

The Blacks and the 18-20 year olds are going to blow the doors off this thing. They see it coming in their internals.

20. My emotions are very close to the surface now --
but your response made me cry: it was the thought of these kids, larger in number than even the Boomers, possibly beginning already to save us. I have a Gen Y child, and, though I've been blasted on this board many times for saying so, I have tremendous hope for this generation.
