43. Hell, I did THAT two months ago
Andy the Right Wing Republican called me an "America-hating liberal" for the 500th time and, as a reward, I kicked him in the nuts -- forgetting, of course, that Right Wing Republicans don't HAVE nuts.
It was like kicking a floor safe. Fucking ankle was sore for a month.
John
Won't do that again before 2008.

7. "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" I reworked the "Wolves" Bush Commercial
- with him sitting on his ass on 911

I couldn't stand this commercial being touted as THE big Bush Ad buy of the Century - so I created a Quicktime version that is more suitable - called "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" --

It's a pretty small file so it should load fine -- THIS ONE will take some of the swelling out of Chimpy's head..

it helps to bring up the fact that Bush sat on his ASS during 911 while the REAL WOLVES brought the world down.

Pass this around if you will please? I think a lot of people are going to like this one :)

Made a sign to protest the American-Realestatesalesman endorsement tomorrow.

Spat on an SUV with B/C stickers in the HEB parking lot. Yeah, pretty childish, but I claim it was a crime of passion.

(I was arrested with two others last Friday for an act of civil disobedience at a * rally, and our lawyer has moved our court date from November 2nd to Monday afternoon. We want our message about *'s use of fear as a campaign tool to reach as many people as possible before the elections.)

23. I worked in our Democratic headquarters from 9 to 1,
and passed out some literature for a local candidate.

Then, I went back to THREE people I had talked to on Thursday who thought Al Quaeda and Iran were connected, and who thought Saddam had something to do with 9/11. I brought them copies of articles that disproved the connection.

I don't know how those three will end up voting, but I did what I could. I still can't believe the ignorance of people.

35. Pretty good day...
I'm less than 2 weeks out of minor surgery, so still not doing a lot, but I DID have a pretty good day today. Gave out about 20 K/E bumper stickers and 3 buttons and I phone banked to 8 volunteers in Ohio and Florida for canvassing. I also wrote 8 letters to undecideds in FL, which I will mail tomorrow.

I won't be canvassing tomorrow with the group here, but I will be making calls from home.

Still weak from the surgery, but truthfully, I am not sure I'd canvass for safety reasons. Besides, I think I'm better in writing and on the phone since I'm kind of shy.

This Seniors Coalition scam (they only get 4.9% of donations LOL) is run out of Houston by Regency Communications, Inc.

Rutherford Institute supported Paula Jones.

Tis been a good day for the DU Investigators :)

don't know if this counts, but just got off the phone with a (former) whoosh voter! She was soooo uninformed about issues.

A woman's right to choose!
The disgrace we are in the world's eyes as of now!
The war abomination!
The stolen election of 2000!
Martial law in Florida!
No clear skies!
No 'no child left behind'!
The medals vs. the abandoned service!
Much More!

She was feeding me sound bites, and I replied with facts.
Really think we got this one!

Excuse my excitement!

She kept saying, "maybe I won't even vote". I said, "No, vote John Kerry. We deserve to be respected in the world again ."
(We're in a pretty solid red state, but can still make a statement.)

Very nice conversation. Warm fuzzies.

Some people just need to hear some facts. They don't know. They don't come to DU.

41. I'm a precinct coordinator for MoveOn
Edited on Sun Oct-24-04 01:54 AM by 5thGenDemocrat
Out to locate 150 Kerry voters in Precinct 14-1, Saginaw, Michigan, along with my intrepid crew.
It doesn't require much intrepidity -- the precinct's running at least 80 percent Kerry* among those who choose to respond. And Saginaw (believe it or not) is important enough that Ann Coultergeist is here Wednesday night and Dopey's coming in on Thursday.
We on the ground here in The Center of the Universe intend to give them both a warm, hearty Democratic Saginaw welcome.
John
* = I said AT LEAST. I don't have the exact figures yet from today's canvassing (I'm out getting wet -- someone else can do the damned spreadsheets), but I'd say it might even be (close to) 90 percent.

"GOTV" campaign - as of today, we have hit 175 houses - tomorrow we will get another list and keep knocking until election day. I've been able to get quite a few new volunteers to help out this week - lots more to do, so little time.

We've also had lots of problems in my area with Kerry signs being stolen so we delivered new ones today, too.

46. What someone did to me
This isn't something I did to help Kerry, but what someone did to me. I live in a very conservative neighborhood, in a very conservative county, in a conservative state (Texas). I have a Kerry sign in my yard, which is a rare site around here. One of my neighbors placed a little gift box on my door handle last week with homemade cookies and a note that said "Thanks for having the guts to put up a Kerry sign in your yard!" It gave their names and address, so I know that they have a Kerry sign as well. That really made me feel good, and I know that I will not hesitate to place up signs in the future, even if my candidates aren't the popular choice for my neighbors. If you live in a conservative area, this is a great way to encourage your neighbors!
