Let's donate to the Wisconsin Democratic Party.
It's close in Wisconsin, and Kos (of the "Daily Kos" blog) writes that the Bush campaign is depending on Wisconsin in case they don't win Ohio.

I don't want Bush winning Wisconsin or Ohio.

I donated $300 to the Wisconsin Democratic Party this week. If you can't afford that much, give $25.

You can donate to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin at:
http://www.wisdems.org /

Kos of the blog "The Daily Kos" discusses the immportance of Wisconsin to the presidential race at:

3. Yo, thanks Eric.
We're all doing what we can on this side of the border. For example, I belong to a veterans group that stands strung out along one or another highway in northwest WI with "Burma-shave" type signs for Kerry. A bunch of us vets have committed to bombarding the local press with 1 LTTE from each of us per week, focusing on a different paper each week. I've never seen this much political fervor & activity in a bunch of 50+ guys. If you're in a safe state, a little geld here couldn't hurt.

Sure hope Feingold has the coattails to bring Kerry along. Russ is up by 10 in the last poll, done by St. Norberts College. Kerry was leading 48-43 in the same poll, which was within the MoE.

Good luck with all you're doing for Kerry.

7. Let's win both Wisconsin and Ohio.
Make sure the Wisconsin Democratic Party has enough money to get-out-the -vote.

Regarding Ohio, make sure that harrassing Republicans aren't allowed to hold up the lines. If a Republican has a "challenge" to a voter, pull them aside and keep the line moving.

15. We're out there fighting!
Me and the missus are out as often as we can. We've phone banked, my wife's a ward captain, we've donated, written LTTE's, and are booked SOLID in the GOTV weekend. I will not, NOT, let WI turn red.

(Heh, we're signed up for some visibility on Sunday 10/31 for GOTV. We're planning on either wearing our Jack and Sally Skellington costumes, or going as Bush* with Kerry signs. It should be cool!)

But, for some positives:

Feingold is bringing an excellent level of support for Dems, and Gwen Moore is bringing the African-American vote to the polls in Milwaukee. That turnout should be huge, especially after the mayoral race in which our first African-American mayor was unseated. (Admittedly by one of my favorite congressmen of all time--Tom Barrett--I miss having him represent me in the House, always a fighter! Stupid republican-party-favoring re-districting. Grumble)

19. Sure am! And wow would I love to see Gwen in the House!
If Rep. Barrett had to be replaced by someone, she's the lady!

I'm so excited for this Friday/Sat/Sunday (I have to work 9-9 on Monday--blech!) I'm just PUMPED! We need to show WI voters what 4 years under a real president can do for us!

When Kerry brings jobs back, (hopefully musters enough congressional support to) manage to raise the minimum wage, brings our troops out of Iraq, he should be able to keep WI blue forever!

It kills me to hear people that so obviously have their best interests tied to Kerry say they're voting for Bush because they want lower taxes. Lower taxes don't mean JACK if you don't have a job, or if the job you have pays $9,000 less than the one you had 4 years ago! But, that seems to be the most common Wisconsinite reason to vote for Bush. When did the number of people blinded by fear of 'taxes' jump so high? Where's our progressive heritage?

21. I'm going to campaign every chance I get this week...
If you want to sort out how people could vote against their own best interests like this, read "Don't Think of an Elephant" by George Lakoff. People don't always vote their best interest. They vote their IDENTITY. That identity may be their economic best interest, it may be their moral values, it may be their sports team, it may any combination of things.

Get the book. It's important and eye opening.

Maybe I'll see you at 20th & Wisconsin this weekend!

32. Ohio
The repugs are going to be challenging a lot of votes in Ohio. Kerry has made a huge comeback in the polls here and is ahead in most of them but our secretary of state (ken blackwell) has already pulled some gestapo tactics.

36. Thanks Eric
and everyone else!!!

We've been busting our butts here. On Saturday when I was phone banking, all of the banks were full - that's two campaign offices plus the AFSCME offices (I think there are 40 phones at AFSCME).

Today, I spent four hours calling people about Thursday's rally and GOTV. There is so much enthusiasm and vigor in this campaign.

Tomorrow Caroline Kennedy will be at the AFSCME offices to work with the volunteers! How cool is THAT?!?!?!

Thursday is the rally - and in 2000 the Gore rally on the square at the beginning of Teachers Convention weekend was HUGE!!!

I'm working for ACT on Sat, Sun and Mon, and working at the polls for 14 1/2 hours on Tuesday.

We'll put your dollars to good use! THANK YOU!!!!! :D

45. Some extra motivation courtesy Sen. Kohl
"The Democratic Party of Wisconsin's Victory 2004 Campaign has implemented its most aggressive voter mobilization effort ever. We are working tirelessly, knocking on thousands of doors and calling thousands more on the phone every day, discussing the importance of this election with voters in Wisconsin.

"Nevertheless, groups continue to pour millions of dollars into our state to slander John Kerry and his honorable service to our country in Vietnam. That's why I am writing today to ask for your continued support of the Wisconsin Victory 2004 Campaign.

"Your contribution of $50, $100 or $250 today will give us the edge we need to combat these groups and transform this election from a virtual tie to a solid victory for Kerry/Edwards and the rest of the Democratic ticket."

Minesota hasn't gone for a Republican presidential candidate since 1972, and ideally this would be a safe state for Kerry, but it's not.

Lots of Bush supporters here.
