Democratic underground I have a mission for you all
Saturday Bush used Marine One to make a dramatic entrance at a couple of different rallies. One that got coverage was FORT MYERS, United States a baseball stadium.

Remember Cheney's remarks about Kerry using the hunting of the goose as a photo op? Well Bush created this GIANT stagecraft photo op at the COST of TAXPAYERS.

The mission if you choice to accept is to find out how much it cost to fuel Marine One. Find out the labor and pay of people to maintain Marine One. Then we need to echo it with the rise of health care. We echo it with the lives of men who have died in Iraq. We echo it with cuts in homeland security. We echo it with the lost of jobs.

We need to show Bush for what he really is living in a fantasy of spin at the cost of the AMERICAN people. Democratic Underground has a lot of creative people here. I believe working together we can turn this showboating into the same as the wolves ad. The only question is do you accept this mission?

4. Some starters.
The fleet of Marine Ones are based on the Sikorsky VH-3D Sea King.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/whmo/hmx1.html

Range: 600 nautical miles (965 km.)

http://www.chinfo.navy.mil/navpalib/factfile/aircraft/air-vh3d.html

The VH-3D is in turn based on the UH-3H.

"Fuel consumption is approximately 1,200 pph in all flight regimes."

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/aircraft/uh-3.htm

Now you need to find out the type of fuel it uses (JP-5?), the cost per pound of the fuel, and the duration of the flight to and from the destination. Plug them into this formula:

Fuel cost = (flight duration minutes) x (20 pounds/minute) x ($/pound)
