What's the deal with Jim Bunning of KY?
I've been focusing on the presidential election, but have recently come across some reports of Sen. Bunning's erratic behavior - not following the rules in one debate, canceling the other.

Any Kentucky DU'ers care to comment on our chances of taking that Senate seat? Is Bunning's mental condition big news in the local news?

3. We have a shot!
Bunning was up 26 points at one time, and some polls have them locked up now.

Bunning has refused most debates with Mongiardo, finally agreeing to one - but via satellite from DC. He was busted later for using a teleprompter for his opening and closing statements. They were both invited to be on Meet the Press (for today's show), and while Mongiardo agreed Bunning declined. Bunning said that Mongiardo (an Italian-American) looked like one of Saddam's sons, ran ads showing Dr. Dan's house and plane (but, oops, they weren't really his house and plane), insulted Bunning for making his money off Medicare (let's attack the Dr. for treating poor people!), told a Paducah TV station that "there are enemies among us" or some such shit, thinks he is being targeted individually by terrorists, accused Mongiardo or his staff of "roughing up" his wife at a picnic... the list goes on and on.

Bunning's campaign just might be one of the most incompetent campaigns in history.

The HUGE rumor here in Kentucky is that Bunning has dementia, so the plan is for Bunning to win and then resign due to health problems, then our Republican governor Fletcher would appoint himself to the position because they already hate his guts in Frankfort. I'm hearing this all over and from State employees. I definitely think we have a great shot at this seat!
