things that scare me
not in any particular order

-- heating my house this winter, just got an oil delivery of 150 gallons, price per gallon was $1.89 (we just ordered another two cords of wood too -- so in answer to bush*'s flippant remark --- YES, you idiot I do need wood)

-- having enough money to heat my house, pay my bills and eat

-- losing my job

-- my partner losing her job

-- car and/or truck breaking down and not having the money to fix it

-- not being able to afford to pay for gas for vehicles (gas in our area is anywhere from $2.00 - $2.15 gallon depending on where you go)

-- another 4 years of bush*

my partner just came into the den and announced "If smirk-boy gets in again -- we are going to Canada"

3. America's loss has always been Canada's gain.
From the United Empire Loyalists, to the Underground Railroad, to the '60s, waves of American emigres have been a huge and positive influence upon Canadian history.

5. gosh and just think you dont have any kids thrown in the mix
think how that multiplies the job and heating and food on the table with kids. the health insurance and public schools and enviroment with the responsibility of little one. the furture, when looking theru the eyes of your children.

6. no kids but
4 cats, 2 dogs, plus we are fostering a greyhound until a forever home can be found... so make that 3 dogs

not the same as kids, but their food and vet bills also add up

I know my neighbor (divorced mom with 1 kid) works full time and is having a hard time, neighbors next to us have 3 kids - father works days, mom works part-time evenings (she would work full-time, but has two kids still at home and daycare would eat up any money she earns)

times are rough and looks to get rougher
