There IS a way to have an accurate vote count on November 2nd |
|
Edited on Sun Oct-24-04 10:23 AM by glarius
I have seen a myriad of voting machines displayed on TV and I'm hearing all the dire warnings about voter machine malfunctions, no paper trail, etc........No wonder it's confusing to some....It sounds as if there is a potential mess brewing down there on November 2nd.....I believe there is a simple solution.....Have your citizens vote by paper ballots like we do here in Canada, and I believe they do in the European democracies!....The people go to the polls, mark their ballots, deposit them in a box and they are counted....We have a representative from each of the parties (called scrutineers) at the polling stations....so no hanky-panky.......We ALWAYS know the results of our elections within hours.....It may be old-fashioned, but it works!......Anyway......good luck.....and GO KERRY! :loveya:
P.S....Think of the millions of dollars saved by not having those machines!

enough to work! :)
Unfortunately, the paper and pen lobby doesn't contribute as much to political candidates as the computer companies that build the voting machines, so I'm afraid that it's not a viable alternative in the U.S.

3. Don't be silly, who said the government wants our votes to count? |
|
There will be no paper trail, and hundreds of thousands will not be able to vote, and those that do have no guarantee that their vote will go to the right candidate.
