Kansas City Star - great Kerry endorsement
If you know any undecided voters, the KC Star's 10/17 endorsement of Kerry sums up exactly why Bush has been a disaster for this country - and they absolutely take BunnyBoy apart.

--snip---

The challenges ahead, particularly in defending the United States from catastrophic attacks, call for a national leader with energy, intelligence, focus and determination.

Over the last four years, President Bush has amply demonstrated that he is not such a leader.

---
In talking about the “pre-9-11 mentality,” some humility on the part of Cheney and Bush would be in order. They are Exhibit A for this defect, as the final report from the bipartisan Sept. 11 commission makes clear. The commission found that top administration officials failed to heed urgent warnings from various sources about the possibility of large-scale terrorist attacks. The commission provided the public with ample evidence that the administration should have done far more to protect the country in the months before the attacks — and should be doing more now.

Kerry expresses appropriate concern about U.S. vulnerabilities and promises to beef up homeland security with, for example, more cargo inspections at the nation's ports. When Kerry suggested security improvements in the second presidential debate, however, Bush indicated he did not think they were affordable.

They are. As Kerry noted, Bush just has other priorities.

1. Wonder if this will make any difference in Missouri
I had given Missouri up for dead. The poll margin isn't that wide, but I just have a feeling that Missouri has too many single issue voters.

2. dunno
But the race for the MO 5th has tightened up, and I think we'll see a HUGE GOTV in KC for Cleaver. That can only help Kerry - and with a huge turnout in Jackson County, MO is still a possibility.

3. Neecy, is that a terrier in the pic? Looks like one of the dogs we
had when I was growing up (sniff! sniff!).

5. nope...
He's an alpha Lhasa Apso. In the photo he's reacting to a Cheney speech.

4. It would be great if we can win in MO
I'm hoping Clare gets to the Governor's Mansion too!
