Hartford Courant endorses incorrectly |

No point in posting the link. Just Republican talking points you've already heard. Disappointed in my (sort of) hometown paper, though -- I grew up in Storrs (where UConn is), but we always read the Courant.

1. The Courant was ordered to endorse Bush in 2000... |
|
...against the unanimous vote of its editors. I expected the same this year.

2. Are they the only New England paper to endorse *? |
|
Gore won with 56% in 2000, so I don't think their endorsement means much.

4. Courant is a subsidiary of the Chicago Tribune, I believe |
|
So, they probably have their marching orders from on high... but, the Courant has traditionally endorsed Republicans. I believe it actually made national news in '96 when they endorsed Clinton over Dole. I think soon after that is when the Tribune acquired them.
