Observations in Tennessee
On Friday I dropped by my local Dem Party headquarters (small middle Tennessee town about 30 miles from Gore's home town - went for Bush in 2000) to donate a little money and pick up more election materials.

The workers there said that early voting is way up and their office is extremely busy with people dropping in to donate and get materials. They said the amount of activity is the polar opposite of 2000.

Voter regristration has ended here, but they told stories of young and old coming in to register just to vote for Kerry. Several elderly folks had never voted in their life, but will this year because Bush has to go!

I see just as many Kerry signs and stickers as Bush signs and stickers on display, if not more - far more than for Gore in 2000.

I stopped in the bank on my way home. Had my Kerry/Edwards button proudly displayed! A lady in front of me in line turned around to speak. When she saw my button a huge smile spread across her face, she kissed her hand and touched my Kerry/Edwards button. I thought she was going to cry! I introduced myself and walked outside with her as we talked politics. I gave her stickers and a yard sign.

Another lady who works in the bank was giving us thumbs up as she listened to our conversation.

Things are looking good here. It would be an answer to my prayers if Kerry could take Tennessee!

I wish he would make a stop in Tennessee this week. It may be closer here than anyone thinks and a visit could make a difference!

1. Do you ever feel as though you're on an emotional roller coaster???
I do and have for a few months now! It seems that I can see a glimmer of hope that we'll vote bush* out and then I'll encounter a bunch of ignoramus wingers, or see a state poll, or encounter a group of women who are vigorously supporting bush* and it just makes my head hurt.

It would be great if the eastern part of the state could keep the vote almost even and the middle and western parts of the state could carry it for Kerry/Edwards.

I do think that a visit would energize the dems who have and are working hard to get K/E elected.
