Schumer is running for re-election?
Just saw that he's a guaranteed winner at electoral-vote. Forgive my ignorance, I haven't been paying close attention to some of the Senate races.

Why didn't the Repugs get a better candidate? They usually make things competitive.

1. Schumer is very popular in New York State
And I don't think there are any Republicans in New York State good enough to beat him, including Guiliani. We'll see who they decide to run in 2006, though, when Hilary Clinton is up for re-election. That ought to be more interesting.

2. There aren't that many stupid GOPukes left in NY and the smart
ones don't want to be remembered as losing to Chuck as part of the * team. Beleive you me, whether the Chimp wins or loses, any NYer who runs on his coattails is going to have the feet pulled out from under him in every election from here on out.

Schumer is God around here, followed closely by Hilary. The rest of America should have Senators as hard-working and canny as these two.

3. You don't have to vote for Schumer
There's a Green, a Builders, and a Socialist Workers Party candidate you can choose on the NY ballot for senator.
