First Comment on my Kerry Bumper Sticker
As I was coming out of Petsmart, the lady getting into her big SUV parked next to us, said....
"I like your Kerry Sticker, where can I get one" So I handed her my spare!!
Yay, off back to K/E HQ tomorrow to pick up some more to hand out.

In the deepest darkest depths of Louisiana, the silent majority are waiting to have their say on November 2nd.

1. I was wearing my run against bush shirt yesterday
and two middle age women from Wisconsin said your running in the right direction! I am in CA and was running in SF so the choir is there but also the tourists like her.

I love it when I hear people from the groups they say are Bush's don't vote for him. I am also middle age woman voting for Kerry. My husband and I are white, not poor, and in the age they say prefers Bush. I think its all a bunch of crap!! And my husband said all the men he works with hate Bush and they say married men prefer him, BS!

I just came back from swing trip to Oregon & Nevada and its bogus there too. I talked to many men as well as women of my age not just the young people who are pissed off at all the lies Bush told and worried about our kids. Most of us have kids that are in the draft range. These polls are nuts!

2. Saw a bumper sticker on a truck the other day that said
"Veterans Against Kerry." I had my "Kentuckians for Kerry" on my bumper. At the stoplight the dude rolled his car window down and motioned for me to roll my window down. He then yelled at me that I am "unpatriotic for voting for Kerry. Kerry was a traitor." I told him that if he even considered voting for Bush that HE (the truck driver)was an even bigger traitor to this country than Kerry, me or anyone else in this country could ever be. I then told him that Bush cut and ran, didn't show up for service and he is now putting our soldiers in danger for political and financial gain. Ended up saying, "Bush will be tried for war crimes and treason." The light changed and the traffic moved on. The guy was fuming (gave me the one-finger salute - I smiled and laughed at him - he got madder) but the cars behind the truck driver and me both honked and gave me the thumbs up. The truck driver laid rubber and sped off.

I don't think I dazzled him with my logic and facts. I don't think I won him over. Damn.

*Note - this was coming through the post town for Fort Knox, Radcliff. Lots and lots of soldiers, interesting, not many B/C 04 signs - plenty Kerry/Edwards.

3. Excellent!
I live outside of New Orleans & I've seen only a handful of BC signs. However, this is Catholic country & I've seen a modest amount of "please vote pro-life" signs, so I guess these sign owners are going to hold their noses & vote for a nitwit because of that one issue.

I'm hoping the lack of signs in my area is a good sign for Kerry. I'm hopeful because my area usually has a huge amount of signs displayed before an election, particularly for one as major as this. I'm taking it as a pleasant surprise for Kerry on election day. :)

4. TONS of Kerry stickers here in New Orleans
The other day on the way to work, I was surrounded on all sides by cars with Kerry stickers. What a great morning that was. Things like that really make me smile.

:)

6. There are very few yard signs around Lafayette
I don't know if thats the norm or not, because in the last election I was still living in the UK, there are quite a few cars with * stickers on, but considerably less than before the debates. I've only seen a handful of K/E stickers, but I suspect thats because people don't know where to get them from. I know I had to call Baton Rouge, just to get a Lafayette number, to be able to track down the HQ, which was hidden in a corner of downtown, IMO, a right pain!
In the yard sign war, */c04 are winning, though, but I can still count on the fingers of my hand how many I've seen in the whole town.

The thing that brought me out into display mode was the friggin idiot who had ammended the evil ones sign's to read 'a necessity, not a choice' underneath. That was my final straw, I feel very strongly people should be proud of having a democratic choice and be proud to advertise that fact.

7. I have to keep yard signs and bumper stickers on my at all times now
I have a K/E bumper sticker on my car. At least once a week I have someone stop me and ask for a bumper sticker... gas station, grocery store, work parking lot, you name it. I offer them a sticker and then ask if they'd like a yard sign too, and they are always thrilled to take them.

On a side note, I walked into a Bennigans a couple of weekends ago after the ACT concert with James Taylor and the Dixie Chicks. It was after midnight and I was very tired and so I forgot I was wearing a K/E t-shirt. I walked in the door and the people in the waiting area erupted in cheers and applause. I stood there with a dumb blank look on my face until I one of the girls said, "Love the shirt!"

I live in Florida, y'all... and I live in the very republican Lakeland where Bush the Lesser just visited... this above all is very encouraging!

8. Not a surprise, but Indy's gone round the bend for B/C ..
It seems like everytime I get in my car lately I am stuck behind some asshole with a bumper full of Bush/Cheney, My Man Mitch and other fundie candidate stickers. For awhile I was seeing plenty more K/E than B/C, but in the last 2 weeks the Dark Side seems to have emerged.

And Friday night the local hockey team held an 'Election Night' promotion (ticket discount for bringing in either a dictionary or a waffle) and a 'straw poll' of sorts ... B/C won 70% of the vote. :eyes:

These people - who are so willfully ignorant that they consistently vote against their own interests - sadden me.

10. The best one I've seen here
AWOL in Alabama, Where was George W Bush?

I don't see many K/E signs/stickers, but at least I'm seeing them now (none a month ago). There are far fewer B/C signs/stickers this time around. I don't have much hope for Bama going blue, but I know it will be a lot closer this time.
