I am an atheist. I was raised with no religious training at all, and know little about Christianity. My question for the two 'reverends' has to do with the doctrine of free will. According to Christianity, do all humans have a free will than God does not control? If that is the case, that could account for 'God allowing 9/11 to happen.' He let happen because he had no control to stop it. I know Fallwell and Robertson attributed 9/11 to God abandoning his protect because of abortion and gay rights. If God has any power at all, it would seem to me that he at least could control the weather. How does a believer account for Florida getting blasted by a number of hurricanes. God asleep the wheel?
