Something Fishy In Clark County
If you ever doubted the importance of holding local office (whether as a district judge or otherwise), this story from Nevada should convince you. Remember the organization that was tearing up ballots in Clark County Nevada?

To resolve the documented trashing of Democratic voter registrations, Judge Valerie Adair ordered Democratic and Republican legal teams on Friday to come up with an agreement to re-open voting for a time. They did so, agreeing to a three-hour registration window which would have occurred on Monday.

When the two legal teams returned, however, they were instructed to keep quiet while the judge read a statement denying the re-opening of voter registration.

She said she needed more concrete evidence and added, "This will create additional fraud and manipulation."
During the morning hearing, Judge Adair had accepted the premise that egregious acts had been committed by someone in the destruction of registration forms. By later, she said the allegations were unsubstantiated, even though she chose not to hear testimony or to ask questions about other documentation that was offered to the court.

Reporters from the local KLAS-TV station are skeptical, and in this video segment question whether politics influenced her decision. Something changed between the morning and afternoon sessions, and the public deserves to know what.
