1. The only evidence is the polls
The polls show the race pretty much tied. Whether or not they are accurate, they have been consistent with their methodology, so I would assume Kerry's end game is as good as Bush's, but not better. Maybe it will get better over the next few days.

4. Great, that is what we need, an upbeat vision in the final push
From Kerry, Edwards, Clinton and surrogates. A memorable positive quick sound bite slogan would be even more beneficial than commercials.

From my debate watching parties, it was obvious Kerry will fail only if Americans don't view him positively enough to dump Bush. Their assessment of Bush is locked in. Kerry has to boost his own favorability numbers to pull this out.

3. What's remarkable is that there are no enduring scandals
Edited on Sun Oct-24-04 04:57 PM by JPJones
right now. After the THK furor died down, the only thing the media wing of the RNC (i.e. CNN, MSNBC, etc.) has to talk about are the polls.

This time in 2000, I seem to remeber that Gore was getting hammered from all sides at this time (thank you Mo Dowd).

I would not get cocky though. If the plan for this week is to play defense, I'd think that would not be so good.

But the MO is definitely with Kerry. The media has picked up on that the Kerry campaign is confidant and the Bush campaign is apprehensive, and that message is getting through to voters.

5. We knew this was coming from "Kerry the Closer"
I think the money is really flowing now for ads and Kerry has definitely found a great message.
