Don't underestimate Bush's alleged "stupidity"!
Mark Crispin Miller, author of The Bush Dyslexicon and professor of media studies at New York University, says, "Bush is not an imbecile. He's not a puppet. I think that Bush is a sociopathic personality. I think he's incapable of empathy. He has an inordinate sense of his own entitlement, and he's a very skilled manipulator. And in all the snickering about his alleged idiocy, this is what a lot of people miss."

"He has no trouble speaking off the cuff when he's speaking punitively, when he's talking about violence, when he's talking about revenge," Miller told Murray Whyte of the Toronto Star. "When he struts and thumps his chest, his syntax and grammar are fine. It's only when he leaps into the wild blue yonder of compassion, or idealism, or altruism, that he makes these hilarious mistakes."

"This, then, is why he's so closely watched by his handlers," Miller says, "not because he'll say something stupid, but because he'll overindulge in the language of violence and punishment at which he excels."

"He's a very angry guy, a hostile guy. He's much like Nixon. So they're very, very careful to choreograph every move he makes. They don't want him anywhere near protestors, because he would lose his temper," Miller said. "I call him the feel bad president, because he's all about punishment and death. It would be a grave mistake to just play him for laughs. A grave mistake, indeed."

When Bush said in Nashville, last year, "Fool me once, shame . . . shame on . . . you," followed by a long pause, then, "Fool me—can't get fooled again!" Miller believes this "Bushism" was honest on Dubya's behalf. "What's revealing about this is that Bush could not say, 'Shame on me' to save his life. That's a completely alien idea to him. This is a guy who is absolutely proud of his own inflexibility and rectitude."

Bush must be stopped now, before he sets the world aflame! Ask your Naderite friends what good is voting for Nader in order to keep a clear conscience over "progressive" ideologies, when one will get blood on one's hands?

2. "We'll stay the course for as long as it takes, but . . .
Edited on Sun Oct-24-04 06:27 PM by TaleWgnDg
not a day longer. In other words, one day more than it takes would be too long. See, I've got resolve. That means I'm resolute, which is a fancy word meaning I'm resolved. See, the terrorists hate freedom, but freedom is on the march. In other words, freedom is marchin'." - (Gary Trudeau's Doonesbury 10/24/04)

3. Miller has studied the behaviors and linguistics of * extensively.
I've exchanged a few posts with him on another board in the past. His work is fascinating, and his credentials are very good.

5. Well, he's stupid too. Thinks "Sweden" was the neutral country?????
I knew Switzerland was the neutral country when I was in the third grade. Sheeesh!

He's basically uneducated. I agree with those who say he is a political animal and very savvy on getting elected, but he doesn't read, isn't interested in issues, and doesn't know basic grade school history. He's a moron.

7. Sweden was neutral in WWII
but you're right, the Swiss are famous for their extreme neutrality (oxymoron intended).

13. Yes, a moron, but a rich moron with a powerful Neo-con cult behind him
* may possibly have been mostly harmless without the powerful PNAC thugs behind him. Even his father had sense and dab of humanity, but * jr seems to have neither.

11. I think he is plain stupid
and ignorant. I admire Mr. M.C. Miller, read his book, and enjoyed it, and no way am I near his scholarship and expertise, but, nevertheless, I think Bush is just plain stupid. I am smarter than he. An intelligent man would never have screwed up as much as he has. He is just plain stupid. :-)
