Has anyone received B*sh/Cheney literature?
Just curious. I've spent parts of the last two weekends doing lit drops in my rural central Virginia county, putting brochures for Kerry/Edwards and Al Weed (congressional candidate) in newspaper boxes. Which means that a lot of people on relatively middle-of-nowhere dirt roads will be seeing that Democrats are out campaigning, because we've got the county pretty well covered with people doing this.

It just hit me that I've seen no evidence of Bush/Cheney campaigning, apart from scattered yard signs and bumper stickers. I don't watch much TV, so if there are commercials I don't see them. There's sure no evidence of any grassroots Republican activity here. And this is in a county that went 50% Bush vs. 44% Gore / 5.5% Nader in 2000.

Am I imagining this, or is this the case elsewhere also?

1. Yep. The previous owners of this house were republican and
LDS.

They didn't put in an address change so I receive all kinds of wonderful and enlightening literature from compassionate conservatives.

:puke:

And for some reason the wood stove fire seemed to burn a bit brighter later that night.

3. Yeah
I personally have recieved several mailings. My mailman and I both sport K/E signs in our yards and he laughs when I get them. I've even recieved letters from Sen. Frist asking me to take part in a Republican survey. It bothered me so much I went to my county clerk's office the next day to make sure my party affliation was still Democrat and it is. I've called the number on the back of the literature and debated the people on the points that I thought were flat out lies (especially gun control) The Bushy had no comeback for my question as to why Bush hasn't held a hunting license for at least 20 years and John Kerry has.

4. I feel slighted! I don't get any Repuke lit at all.
Of course, it could be because I'm a lifelong Democrat and I donate to the Dems, too. When you do that, you don't end up with Repuke lit in your mailbox. It would be interesting to see what some of it says, though I'm probably better off not having to look at it. I have a tendency to feel nauseous even when I pass a */Cheney sign.

11. That was the first thing I thought too
One correction ... Its a 12 page brochure not 16. Says : Paid for by Swift Vets and POW's for Truth and not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee.

Just a wild guess that this colorful fishwrap had to cost $400,000.00 to $1,000,000.00 to print and mail.

7. Yeah, I got one...
RNC-funded leaflet through the mail (so it cost them postage)... and it was all ANTI-Kerry lies that have been debunked over and over again. It didn't even mention Bush once on it.

Kind of weirded me out, but I'm glad they're wasting their money on crap like this.

10. Telephone calls and spam mail
I've received about six W automated message calls left on my answering machine. About three pieces of garbage in the mail. Four or so in mail from K/E and three phone calls - two live. This is Maine. I'm surrounded by puke signs on this street. About 8-10. I'm the only K/E and I add three other 'below the belt' homemade signs to go with them to piss off the neighbors.

12. We've seen Shrub / local candidate doorhangers
when we've been out blockwalking here. I very politely just put my handout next to theirs. Others were not so polite.
