Who else gets absolutely furious about this ?
ANOTHER ATTACK HELPS BUSH.

That statement just outright enrages me. Yet you hear it all the time with the talking heads. They will "rally around" the president.

There is no logical convolution of thoughts that I can put together in my head, that would describe a sane person thinking this. It just blows my mind.

In other words, if he had TWO attacks on his watch, instead of just one, that would mean he is the one we need to keep us safe.

If that ever happened before the election, and it was determined that's why people voted for him, I am going to leave the country. I am literally going to pack up and leave the country.

1. Woa, slow down a little.
Who said this? Where did you hear it?

5. They just said it on Matthews show tonight.
I've heard it at least a dozen times on different shows. If there was another terrorist attack here, that people would rally around the president.

In other words if there was a raging forest fire, hire the arsonist to go around and protect the other forests.

14. Pundits are living in the same world as Bush.
The world where up is down, black is white.

I'm going to enjoy watching their ego-filled heads explode on Nov 3, when they finally realize those poll numbers they kept quoting didn't mean squat.

Another attack does NOT help him ... it sends him to the showers ...

4. Once again, futile logic infects DU
Sorry, don't mean to sound flippant, but if logic could defeat Bush, he'd be back in Crawford right now.

"I've kept you safe but you're more in danger than ever."

People aren't thinking right now, they're scared - Bush has done his damndest to keep them scared - and it's working. It's all he has. And, considering how Katie Couric whored for Bush tonight, he's getting help.

7. Right you are.
It's circular logic that prevents most people from pinning the asshole down on this issue. We're effectively safely in danger.

6. Heard this yet again on Matthews today. I don't get the logic.
I don't understand why people don't see that we DID get attacked on his watch. I don't understand why nobody points out that we have had more world wide terror attacks in the past year than ever! How does that show the war on terra is working. I am with you, this gets me furious.

9. You would think this would win the academy award for
the unprecedented most ignorant statement made in the last twenty years.

But almost every time I've ever heard it talked about, they always say..."we all agree, another terrorist attack helps the president."

I think to myself, I'm going to hear Rod Serling's voice any minute ain't I? Rod Serling where are you? I know you're there. You got to be there. So come on out. Let's have it. Tell me I'm in another dimension. C'mon quit dragging it out. Get it over with. Stop fucking with me.

8. It seems the talking heads will say anything ...
... to protect their corporate-funded paychecks. I absolutely agree with you. If we're attacked again, they say the country will rally around *. If we're not attacked again, they say * is being effective at protecting us. And NOBODY points out the elephant in the living room -- that 9/11 happened on *'s watch.

11. More elephants =
DC Snipers
Anthrax scare
SARS scare
Shoe bomber
Dirty Bomb scare
Continuous Terr Alert scare tactic

Where in the hell do people like this come from? They need to be studied like common lab mice.

10. So in other words, what they're saying is this:
If you vote for Kerry, you will make the US more susceptible to a terrorist attack. But if we have yet another terrorist attack under our watch, then you need to vote for us to keep you safe.

What's absolutely amazing, as well as more than a little scary, is that there are actually people who will fall for this line of bullshit.

13. I know.
That's why I compared it to the Twilight Zone.

Who in their right mind could even conceive this?

It's like if somebody broke your knee with a baseball bat, you'd say....AAAAAAHHHAHHHHHHHHH OOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!

Now wait just a second, let me turn a little so you can get a good swing at the other one too.

15. Well...
... I agree and have said so here many times. IMHO, another attack would prove without question that Bush* is incompetent.

If Americans rally to Bush* in such a scenario, all I can say is you stupid motherf*ckers are going to get just what you've got coming.

18. Well, then we deserve the attacks.
(let's say another happens in the near future) Both happened on *'s watch.

* will use the attack as an excuse to push every fascist doctine known and unknown to become law.

The people somehow think * is a great guy just because he is president and call us traitors because the hypocricons will spin it as such.

Which leads me to ask: Is * a genius for leading people, or are people geniuses for wanting to be led?

We did not deserve 9/11 to happen, BTW. But we all know the phrase: "Fool me once. Shame on. Shame on. You? Can't get :silly: fooled again!" If Americans ARE fooled this time, we have only the * supporters to blame.

We're much safer from a terrorist attack - that's bound to happen sooner or later - thanks to President Bush. :eyes:

20. President Bush
You will save me from the third attack though won't you? Oh, God, please tell me you will.

I'll still stand by you after two. But I just don't think I could stand anymore of being so safe that we'd have a third one.

Love,

Your loyal puke.
