The Final Nail in Bush's Coffin
Edited on Sun Oct-24-04 08:12 PM by Nancy Waterman
The breaking story from Josh Marshall will be the end of Bush. This story is huge!!

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/

Despite pressure from DOD to keep it quiet, the IAEA and the Iraqi Interim Government this month officially reported that 350-tons of dual-use, very high explosives were looted from a previously secure site in the early days of the US occupation in 2003. Administration officials privately admit this material is likely a primary source of the lethal car bomb attacks which cause so many US and Iraqi casualties.

3. I've heard this nail in the coffin thing before - I wonder what, if any-
thing will wake these people up. We have to win this election and help John restore our Country, in spite of these asses.

5. I have heard it before too but this seems enormous
A direct link between Bush's incompetence and the death and destruction in Iraq and all the deaths of US soldiers. Plus a coverup. The main thing is to get it on the media. This is the October Surprise. Bush can't survive this. It is way too clear and easy for everyone to "get".

11. That assumes
it makes it to media which seem far more concerned with the same old horse-race handicapping and other speculation with which their lazy asses are so very at ease. A few hundred emails to specific newsreaders at the major outlets may get the staff to include SOMETHING but don't get your hopes up.

I've never been this mad, and i've been pretty darn mad (for whatever that's worth). These bastards need to go down, and hard.

7. There will be no "end of Bush".
That fuck's gotten caught doing everything immoral and illegal except playing w/interns and it hasn't stuck to him because of the media and the american 30 second attention span. This is just more of the same.

10. This is incredible, if true.
350 tons?? I'm having a tough time even visualizing this. This would be like an entire warehouse, cleaned out by looters.

And the article says "PREVIOUSLY secure site". What does this mean? That US soldiers quit protecting the explosives. They got distracted? Or the worst of all possible scenarios......they..I'm having trouble saying it: they WANTED the Iraqis to get it?

OMG, think of the implications. Bush is directly responsible for the deaths of his own soldiers.

Of all the threads I've read here, this is one of the scariest.

run out just before we invaded.

14. It's Worth Repeating
Edited on Sun Oct-24-04 09:30 PM by baltodemvet
It's by no means the first such revelation but now's the time to give it play. We need to go for the throat on this.

Bush's bungling invasion of Iraq has made us LESS safe and wasted American lives. How many of our troops were killed by weapons which we could have--SHOULD have--secured?

Make sure all your local and national 'media outlets' hear about this!

15. Bush guarded the Oil Ministry, but not the KNOWN Nuclear Sites
Those sites went unguarded for weeks and were completely looted. The stolen materials could easily have been sold on the black market. Bush REFUSED to allow the IAEA to inspect the nuclear sites after the invasion to determine if anything was missing, or to, ahem, search for WMD's.

16. what's truly amazing
is not just that we let 350 TONS of explosives "walk", its that we have so little support/intelligence on the ground that we haven't found it. Its not like you can hide 350 tons of anything under a bed.

24. The Master Narrative...
Edited on Mon Oct-25-04 12:46 AM by Davis_X_Machina
...only allows military figures at the rank of Brigadier General or lower, or civilians at the rank of Assistant Secretary or lower, to fuck up.

The scapegoat selection committees have already met, the selections have already been named.

The victims will be fed to the press on Wednesday. The press, if it bothers to cover the story at all, will, like an anaconda, swallow the scapegoats whole and sleep for a month.

Remind me again: who lost their job over Abu Ghraib?
