Inbred Freepers Trying To Come To Grips With "Explosive" October Surprise!
What a bunch of total reactionary dorks. Look at this shit.

NYT DEVELOPING EXCLUSIVE FRONT PAGE STORY ON TERRORISTS AND EXPLOSIVES. EDITOR HAS SET LEAD POSITION FOR STORY, NEWSROOM SOURCES TELL DRUDGE... DEVELOPING...

To: spacejunkie
what in the world does this mean? I cant understand it...

To: spacejunkie
So the nuclear quality high explosives story true? Ruh-roe raggy, I think Kerry is going to be sad very sad.

To: aft_lizard
why kerry sad, looks like Bush bash to me. Much like the December memo. team kerry going to release this stuff for quite awhile over next few days.

To: aft_lizard
If it's in the times, it's going to hurt Bush. No way they'd do a front page story to hurt Kerry.

To: TheHube
good grief!!...that sounds bad, not good for us

To: hipaatwo
This is a hit piece on Bush. And we thought tomorrow's big story was going to be hurting Kerry.

To: ArmyBratCutie
from the source quoted this looks like an old story that has been given legs....

To: aft_lizard
On the contrary, the NYT is going to use it as evidence of the Bush Administration's mishandling of the war.

To: spacejunkie
Storyline:

There is not now, nor has there ever, nor shall there ever be absent the re-selection by intimidation of black voters and by excessive litigation of George W. Bush the Failure to the Presidency for four more years, any connection between terrorists and explosives outside the fantastical imagination of certain certifiably idiotic and deranged right-wing conservatives ideologues, and any historical imagery to the contrary merely constitutes a cruel figment of the imagination of such said idiotic ideologues perpetuated on the American people through intimidation and fear and through media outlets dedicated to the hate-mongering that is the attitude of President Bush, according to unimpeachable intelligence sources used by the upstanding Presidential campaign of the distinguished junior Senator from the Great Commonwealth of Massachusetts, John F. Kerry, and any statement to the contrary effectively constitutes a highly illegal and most dangerous form of defamation of the such said Senator and all people of good will, for it is now hereby certified and is so decreed, so help us Kerry!

To: CindyDawg
pretty clear. In the early days, they stole this stuff and we didn't want it out. And they are blowing things up with it. Does this stuff count as WMD?

To: wjeanw
This is such a hatchet job against Bush. Just like the Casper Weinberger non-story that was drudged up in the days before the '92 election, this is is old news that is being trumpeted as front page just to harm Bush. Despicable.

To: spacejunkie
Mmmm.... So someone looted explosives along with a lot of weapons in the mayhem that followed the fall of Saddams regime. Isn't this old news? If this was about someone looting WMD's it would be more interesting.

To: July 4th
Yes, this is bad for Bush. This combined with the newly found "prison abuse diary" will take away some precious votes.

To: wjeanw
"On the contrary, the NYT is going to use it as evidence of the Bush Administration's mishandling of the war."

I'm afraid you're correct on this one. They will spin it to bash GW.

To: tirednvirginia
Folks, the sky is not falling. We should step back before we believe that we are doomed by some story in the NYT.

To: rocklobster11
Kerry kept trying to beat this drum during the debate. It is not new news so I think they are going to have to hit it hard and have some new hook to make it stick.

To: tirednvirginia
I think not.

Non-story... Drudge hyping his radio show to get listeners.

To: rocklobster11
Exactly. Furthermore, this will be given as the reason why 1,000 US soldiers have been killed - It will be trumped high and low as proof positive of why America needs a new Commander -in-Chief.

1. Well hey there, Columbos.
Probably most of every fucken body who opposed the war knew that Iraq had some explosives and stuff that we'd lose control of if we threw the place into chaos. Course no one could talk about it without being accused of being a traitor or unamerican or whatever the fuck.

Basically, if there's any shit like this that we should have known before the war in a general sense, I point the finger at these McCarthyist freakballs who were running the fuck around accusing people of bullshit and say "you let this happen".

8. That's the deal, LoZoccolo! I fucking hated those lead-up days,
being cloaked with all sorts of sickening labels for the simple fact that we didn't believe this was a war worth fighting. Those bastards had nothing but shameful finger-pointing and demagoguic rhetoric. And now look at us. Justice and Truth is ours but it's all really too sad to claim any victory. Blood is on their hands, dripping.

4. To any f@#king freeper who sees this post....
Instead of seizing the ammo dumps we secured the oil ministry and pipelines. End result, insurgents got the ammo and high explosives.

With those high explosives they have been making effective IED (improvised explosive devices) which have been used to slaughter our troops with no loss of life on their side.

These are the same explosives used in car bombs that have killed Iraqis and Americans !!!

Inspite of all this, the American military has done an outstanding job. Now it is time to support them, DUMP W !!!

AIJ Alom wrote:

True that. However, I suspect that there were other sources of almost as good high explosives all around the country and that they dwarf those 350 unaccounted tons. In other words, I don't think that there ever was a shortage of material to blow stuff up in Iraq and that, were it not for this theft, our troops would presently be safe from explosives (hey, I used to watch McGyver: I know the kind of stuff one can do with chewing gum, pine cones spit, silly putty and Cheez Whizz :-) ).

This is not as significant in this way (though, of course, it still makes it slightly easier to kill our troops and that is not a good thing). What is truly significant here is the fact that if the administration truly had believed the WMD tale, these explosives come from the sorts of facilities the protection of which should have been the highest priority. And, of course, if the reason these facilities weren't a high priority was because no one expected any "weapons of mass destruction" to be there, then we also have a bit of a problem of a different sort (that in such a scenario, the administration would have shamelessly lied about the WMD rationale for war).

Can you document that? Does anyone know what proportion of IED's are made from those particular high explosives?

Don't blame the military yet. If there's anyone to blame, it is more likely the civilian leadership in the Pentagon (the wonderful Donald Rumsfeld).

27. I think you should think about it some more.
350 tons of high grade explosive and you think it's just another weapons stash??? This is a very large quantity of HE. If you need documentation that insurgents are using this HE - do you also need documentation that the sun will rise tomorrow?

While Iraq certainly was flooded with small arms and other weapons, 350 tons of HE is not just another weapon cache. It is a very significant quantity of HE and I feel quite sure it is being used against our troops.

I uncovered a few arms caches in my day but never ran across 350 tons of ready-to-use HE. Enough to make thousands of very powerful IEDs.

Here's another glowingly supportive word for the troops.

To: lavrenti
this story is a setup for something else - the 4th paragraph is the giveaway - the DNC may well be plugged in with the terrorists in iraq, with knowledge of some large scale attack in Iraq this week - using these explosives.

then it becomes a bigger story.

Blah, blah. Tons of explosives are all around. The bombers are using artillery shells, you name it.

The article appeals to the UN Lovers that somehow if the IAEA was cut out, that was bad. Maybe there were good reasons for cutting out the IAEA.

When I signed up you could not post a thread, and I did not, for quite some time.

Anyone who posts the first few days they are here is here for an agenda, ie, using this board to get some publicity.

Personally I take offense at that. Maybe it's just me.

What good is a political victory if it comes at the expense of so many deaths, disfigurements, and shattered lives--both American and Iraqi? And this is shaping up to be a huge political defeat for Bush, so it's even more pathetic.
