Pulling the one thread that would unravel Bush*
in electoral terms that is. Everyone talks about getting at that "one witness" somewhere who can validate various claims/rumors/whatever about Bush*'s activities a la Houston PULL volunteer service and/or cocaine arrests OR any variety of issues the current "president" had with the law. There is one single thing that has been mentioned but never pursued:

The man had a new Texas Driver's License issued. In Texas ALL of your dealings with the law are tied to your DL number. He changed it for one reason: to hide something. Given that he had the influence via family ties to hide a lot, something got through that web in his "youth" that made him want to get rid of the "troublesome" number once he had the power to ditch his original Driver's License for a new one with a new number (something the rest of us in Texas can't do btw...).

It isn't a secret but NO ONE has pursued this the way it should be in the media. Isn't it time we demand to know what is being hidden by that maneuver?

DEMAND the story behind the Driver's License re-issue. DEMAND to know what criminal records are tied to that original number.
Get that, and like the missed TANG physical, all the skeltons will come tumbling out behind it.

1. Don't you think that would have come out already?
He's been in public office for 10 years. I'm just saying.

4. You're totally right, but I think it's too late.
I've felt the same way for months, but no one has followed up on it. The most likely reason he changed his d/l number is because he got another DUI or perhaps even a narcotics arrest in another state. I've never understood why this hasn't been followed up on by some enterprising investigative reporter. There's a story here that isn't being told. I only wish someone had worked it out sooner.

5. I doubt we'll ever find out why he had it changed, or the details.
It happened a long time ago, and you'd have to find someone in TX! who would be willing to risk a lot to give out the details.

BTW, even if you did find out he was a druggie, cokehead, who had 100 moving violations, and 50 acfcidents and 12 DUI's, his supporters wouldn't care! He's been reborn, ya know.

6. He wasn't Governor that long ago and that is when
it was done---its been within the last ten years.

The whore press has long "mentioned" it and noted that Rove, etc. say "nothing here, move along!" so they do.

People are sure chasing AWOL from 30 years ago, why not a ten year old bureaucratic matter? No records ever completely disappear. Somewhere he put his DL# on something like we all do (checks, applications, etc.) and it can be found and will link to something. A reporter with a will to do more than say "gee, isn't that interesting!" could get somewhere.

7. At this point all we can do is cast innuendo on the "born Again" Bush
The fact he pulled the change obviously means he is hiding sump'n, but 40 years later it is nothing compared to his global fuck ups.

8. They can search the database by name too... a new DL doesn't hide anything
And it seems either there's nothing there to bother with.

Or no one who can search the database of criminal convictions wants to know or cares to know enough to bother trying it and releasing the info.

9. in Texas it does
hide things. Its the number not the name. But, you are right---obviously no one who can will.
