OMG! Check out this Kerry pic (w/adorable baby)!

Taken 10/22 in Reno, NV.

Children scream bloody murder around Shrub and they seem to love Kerry...

8. Have to admit the baby is cute, but the dog with Kerry REALLY does

4. Kerry is at his best around kids!
I must admit I didn't think that was the case at all with Kerry. I just didn't think he was the type of guy who enjoyed small children.

When he had the photo op with Edwards and his family right after he made his VP choice I was shocked as hell. Seeing him so engaged with little Jack truly shocked me. You could just tell he was genuinely enjoying running around the yard with Jack. It was so fun to watch him.

I was wrong to assume anything about this man. He constantly surprises and impresses me.

I absolutely love that one photo of him with his face pressed up against the glass and kids peering back at him. My fav photo of him yet!

6. that's the thing about him
he comes from an area where it's easy to portray him as some out of touch elitist. he has also been in the senate for years so it's also easy to just blow him off as some long time inside the beltway person.

but there was always another side to him that not everyone always saw during that time.you can see it in his earlier years with his war service and the protests after but that was still some time ago. but he was able to show it while campaigning during the primary and now. a lot of people have a different impression of him after seeing him for themselves. they go in expecting a stereotype that the media keeps pushing but come away with something different.

one of the reasons he does well i think is because he doesn't try to be something he isn't. he admits he has been lucky to have things that many people don't have. but he listens to everyone and tries to help them. this is the total opposite of bush who puts on a regular guy act yet he comes from a wealthy background and the work he does is only for people like himself.

and the kids for kerry thing was huge during the primary also. kids who were not old enough to vote would still help out . i remember during one of the lowest points in his campaign during the primary there was a baby at an event with a kerry sticker and kerry picked him up and said something like "at least i know you are still with me and that gives me hope".

9. I noticed this during the primaries
I was an early Kerry supporter who was somewhat at a loss to understand why he was doing so poorly in the early polls. The usual explanation was that he was an out of touch elitist who didn't connect with voters.

I like to watch what c-span shows after the speech when the candidate interacts with real people. You really get a glimpse at who they are. I remember seeing Kerry talking to two little girls, patiently and respectfully answering their questions and posing for pictures. I thought that was terrific and showed a side of the man that most people don't get to see.
