Bush Revamps Speech, Keeps Theme Same

By JENNIFER LOVEN
Associated Press Writer

ALAMOGORDO, N.M. (AP) -- President Bush is charging Democrat John Kerry with having a limited vision of the war on terror that won't keep America safe, in a campaign speech revamped to call attention to the central argument of his re-election bid.

"There will be new language. There are many different arguments to be made to make the same point," White House communications director Dan Bartlett said of remarks Bush delivers Monday at a rally in Greeley, Colo. The president was headed to Iowa afterward for events in Council Bluffs and Davenport.

The new speech is part of a multi-pronged, final-stretch effort by Bush to hone the defining issues of the campaign and find a way to break the neck-and-neck status of the race.

Monday's focus on the war on terror includes a new television ad that closely tracks the president's remarks. With former New York Mayor Rudy Guiliani by his side, Bush accuses Kerry of not having what it takes to prosecute the anti-terror battle.

Kind of an interesting article, as opposed to the speech, which will undoubtedly be another false alarm (in terms of new content) and bomb (in terms of success). The article goes on to discuss B-C's stirring plans for the rest of the week; I have a feeling this morning's NYT will be changing their plans pretty markedly, though.

Also interesting: I went to rnc.com to try to find the ad, but they only have their own and in fact I couldn't even find a link to Bush-Cheney's site. Thus far, I can't get on the latter at all; I guess they had a snafu and nobody works this late. Unless they're even stupider than I think (which would be a challenge), they'll have the new ad up there by morning. Link is: http://www.georgewbush.com/

2. I believe that Einstein...
... said it all when he wrote, "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and over again, and expecting different results."

We've had four years of policy insanity from these yokels, and packaging the same message in different ways isn't going to help much, except with the insane in the population.

:P

3. So now we know what *ush did today
He was learning his new speech -- same message -- different words.

So they brought in a new speech writer -- to use different words -- same message.

Which means he'll be talking to his base again.

This should be interesting. *ush prepared/canned speeches and Kerry speaking without cue cards -- and responding on the fly.

7. Reminds me of
a TacoBell "NEW" addition to the menu..

Same old Beans, cheese, meatpaste and tortilla and arranged over and over again in varying combinations..

and of course it ain't real mex food if it doesn't have sour cream dispensed from a caulking gun :)

Did they include him getting falling down drunk or farting while the media beams spewing, "Bush Farts - America enjoys a Breath of Fresh Air!"?

**** in other news ***

Hope the media brings up the fact that Bush sat on his ASS during 911 while the REAL WOLVES brought the world down.

Here's "The Boy who Cried Wolf" Pass it around if you will..
