The Democrats Are Angry, Desperate, and Beside Themselves
Real Clear Politics Commentary ^ | 10/24/04 | T. Bevan

Posted on 10/24/2004 3:47:19 PM PDT by Jose Roberto

The fact is Democrats are angry, desperate, and absolutely beside themselves at facing the prospect of another four years with George W. Bush as President. Frankly, I don' t blame them.

With so much invested emotionally, it will be a crushing psychological blow for liberals to see Bush reelected a week from this Tuesday. Furthermore, if Bush wins big it could be a defeat that threatens the very foundations of the liberal movement itself.

But even that is no excuse for some of the behavior we're seeing. It's no excuse for bending the rules, breaking the law, and generally treating this year's election with an "anything goes" mentality where the ends justify any means. The country deserves - and the Constitution demands - much more than that.

I had to suffer through EIGHT YEARS of Clinton. Why on earth should they get off with only half as much suffering as I had to endure?

Fair is fair. I have NO sympathy for them.

Excellent post. Lunacy is queen in the liberal movement. Liberalism is the opium of the masses. Good and evil, they do exist, God has given tongues to speak insanities...poor souls, they have been lost and poisoned by anger and hatred. God save this country if Kerry is elected.

Socialists and Intellectuals do not like "black and white" issues.... to them all answers are shades of gray... Bush on the other hand... is absolute about what is right and wrong and that drives these people nuts to no end.

Let's face it... the Libs and the Europeans say Bush is the biggest threat to world peace but in reality he is the biggest threat to the World Socialist movement... and that is why you see these guys go nuts...

Let us spread the gift of liberty to those who don't want it

Man, talk about brain dead! "To those who don't want it". Right. Because they'd MUCH rather have the tyrannies under which they live, in which their children are taken from them in the night, and only returned to them for the sole purpose of witnessing their summary execution. Or where they're thrown into plastic shredding machines feet first, so they can suffer the excruciating pain of their lower body being torn to shreds before they finally die.

Can someone, ANYONE, explain to me how THAT would be considered preferable to liberty? Does anyone TRULY prefer that horror to freedom?

First deny them the WH four potentially 8 years, then the Congress, Senate and governorships. Reshape academia in a conservative foundation (reflecting the republic as it is not as they want it to be).

It is time ladies & gents to bury liberalism in America.

Liberalism is dying slowly just like Communism died in the 1980's and Fascism in the 1940's. A Bush victory will be so beneficial for the Democratic party because it will reinvigorate itself in the likes of Evan Bayh, Joe Lieberman, and Zell Miller when the discredited left, liberal wing succumb. And I would also like to see Michael Moore behead himself during Bush's second inauguration.

3. liberalism, the opiate of the masses
they wanna see opiate of the masses?

Jim Jones, "drink this kool-aid in the name of jesus"

David Koresch in Waco, "Hell no we won't come out. Listen guys, it's just a little fire, God will protect us"

Tim McVey, "I coulda used a bit more fertilizer"

The Hale Bop guy, "Hey gang lets all buy the same tennis shoes and drink this"

I could go on but I think we see the religious/conservatism is going to prove to be the real opiate. Tell you what, every liberal I know when told to drink the kool-aid in the name of God would say, "fuck that, you drink it"

4. Suffering?
Edited on Mon Oct-25-04 04:19 AM by Scooter25
Oh the poor baby...I'm sure his life was just horrible for those eight years under Clinton. Of course we were wrong because we didn't advocate for the color coded alerts, wars, bear markets, rampant governmental spending, lies, cheating, and a pro-USA fuck everyone else foreign policy.

And also, isn't it historical fact that Bush freed us from the horrible, horrible years of Clinton/Gore?
:eyes:
(/Sarcasm)

Sigh...

6. Fascism did not die in the 1940's.
Edited on Mon Oct-25-04 04:39 AM by secular_warrior
Once upon a time the GOP was a moderate libertarian party. In 1980, Reagan's "conservatism" heralded in a new era of the GOP: the fusion of the corporations, the military industrial complex and the Christian right, a coalition whose goal is to not only control the government, but to become the de facto government itself - hence all the talk of "small government". Folks, Reagan's GOP has nothing to do with "conservatism"; their true ideology is theocratic imperalistic fascism.

themselves into their little snits.

unfortunately, posts get yanked if they advocate violence. otherwise, i'd say what plans many of us have in store for freepers, regardless of who wins.

12. The more they suck up this BS the harder will be there fall on Nov 3
The freepers are in the first stage of receiving catastrophic news.

The 5 Stages of Receiving Catastrophic News

1. DENIAL --- What's the first thing you do? You try to start it again! And again. You may check to make sure the radio, heater, lights, etc. are off and then..., try again.

2. ANGER --- "%$@^##& car!", "I should have junked you years ago." Did you slam your hand on the steering wheel? I have. "I should just leave you out in the rain and let you rust."

3. BARGAINING --- (realizing that you're going to be late for work)..., "Oh please car, if you will just start one more time I promise I'll buy you a brand new battery, get a tune up, new tires, belts and hoses, and keep you in perfect working condition.

4. DEPRESSION --- "Oh God, what am I going to do. I'm going to be late for work. I give up. My job is at risk and I don't really care any more. What's the use".

5. ACCEPTANCE ---"Ok. It's dead. Guess I had better call the Auto Club or find another way to work. Time to get on with my day; I'll deal with this later."

Hardly. From what I've seen over the last 4 years, it seems to be alive and well right here at home.

18. In fact if Bush is re-elected
With the degree of leaks and info that comes out on a regular basis about the Bush Administration, which seems to get worse and worse as time goes on, I anticipate that there will be some sort of Watergate like event that occurs within the next 4 years, and that the Republican House and Senate will have no choice but to prosecute, or face massive public anger.
