CNN=Crappy News Network...
They are discusing polls...blah...blah....

The guy from TIME says his poll shows the asshat up by five...That poll's four days old now...

By the way watching CNN now is like watching FOX without the hot anchorwomen...

Geeez, if you're going to be Fox at least get some models to deliver the news...

CNN sucks...

and FOX is the worst. I get gross out by the commercials just watching a football or baseball game. Watched Curt and his Red SOCK beat up on the Cardinals last night. It was sweet game, but man those commercials FOX has on made me want to :puke:

On edit: Having to :puke: this early in the morning is bad. I knew I should of skipped this thread.

13. Faux us the only network with news on the weekends!
CNN shows reruns of Larry King and Paula Zahn, while MSNBC shows endless reruns of Matt Lauer doing celebrity bios. Strangely enough, Faux is the only network with news on the weekends, and that is because it taps on the services of Sky News.

17. I don't know who more full of it, but newspapers it seems are...........
almost as bad sometimes. Reading between the lines was kind of interesting but after a while a person can almost predict what will come out next and so it all just becomes so mundane.

TURN OFF YOUR
TELEVISION!

by L. Wolfe
(snip)
Who's Doing It

But don't take my word for it. Ten years ago we spoke to a man from a think tank called the Futures Group in Connecticut. Hal Becker had spent more than 20 years of his life manipulating the minds of the leaders of our society. Listen to what he said:

"I know the secret of making the average American believe anything I want him to. Just let me control television. Americans are wired into their television sets. Over the last 30 years, they have come to look at their television sets and the images on the screen as reality. You put something on television and it becomes reality. If the world outside the television set contradicts the images, people start changing the world to make it more like the images and sounds of their television. Because its influence is so great, so pervasive, it has become part of our lives. You lose your sense of what is being done to you, but your mind is being shaped and molded."

"Your mind is being shaped and molded." If that doesn't sound like brainwashing, I don't know what is. Becker speaks with the elan of a network of brainwashers who have been programming your lives, especially since the advent of television as a "mass medium" in the late 1940s and early 1950s. This network numbers several tens of thousands worldwide. Occasionally, one appears on the nightly news to tell you what 'you' are thinking, by reporting the latest "opinion polls." But for the most part, they work behind the scenes, speaking to themselves and writing papers for their own internal distribution.

And though they work for many diverse groups, these brainwashers are united by a common world view and common method. It is the world view of a small elite, whose financial and political power rests in institutions that pass this power on from generation to generation. They view the common folk like yourself as little better than beasts of burden to be controlled and manipulated by a semi-feudal international oligarchy, whose wealth, power and bloodlines entitle them to rule.

11. CNN has been crap since Ted Turner sold it to Time-Warner
It is too bad Turner no longer has the money to buy it back. Even their Headline News service sucks! It is now more entertainment than news, and they keep replaying the same videotape of the newscasts (it used to be live all the time), which really shows when there are breaking news.

16. CNN is a mouthpiece of the Establishment
The Establishment doesn't care who is in the White House for as long as their profits are not affected. The Establishment doesn't care about either side of the abortion issue, or the war for that matter. It appears the Establishment is now tilting in favor of a Kerry victory, being fearful that a second Bush term would lead to a Bolshevik-style revolt in this country. They clearly feel that Bush overplayed his hand, and they are more afraid of the rising opposition to globalization than they are of Osama bin Laden.

19. I don't see it that way
I would say "The Establishment" has been trying to keep this close all along, for many reasons. Many of us political junkies have been following things closely for while, but it seems a lot of the ordinary Joe's don't tune in till just before election.

I wouldn't think "The Establishment" would want bush to go down because after all they put him and he delivered for them. Wouldn't one think their credibility will even more shattered if they didn't admonish the truth and JK picked up an even bigger ground swell of support? A lot of these corporate news whores have learned the rules of 'bend but don't break'.

21. Repeat after me -
I will never watch CNN again. I will never watch CNN again.

I removed it from my channel line-up months ago. Have literally not missed it for one moment since then.
THIS is the place to come to get your news. Late Breaking News.
It cannot be beat! :)

As for the stupid polls, only one counts. The huge poll the American public will be taking on November 2, 2004. Until then, fugeddeabout it. ;)

22. CNN are lackees - I don't think they have any agenda the way FOX does.
I just think they like MSNBC and all cable news have come lackees to the Washington conventional wisdom, which is shaped largely by conservative opinion makers. CNN is simply the "uncool kid" parroting the conventional wisdom of the "cool kids", with nothing interesting or provocative to say on their own, and certainly never challenging anything the "cool kids" say or do. In that regard, they sicken me even more than FOX does.
