1. Kerry gets at least 35 endorsements that were bush in 2000 |
|
Sen. John Kerry continued his raid on newspapers that backed President Bush in 2000, grabbing 24 new "flip-flops," plus The Washington Post, which was a major supporter of the war in Iraq. The Democrat has now won endorsements from at least 35 papers that went for Bush in 2000, while Bush has earned only two Gore papers.http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000683265:) :) :)

2. I think Rove is crapping his pants |

right now. Him and Karen are probably ripping each other apart. And George and Laura are quivering in a corner, finishing off another bottle of gin. That's why they ran away to Crawford this weekend. Serious meltdown time.

6. york daily record switch is misleading |
|
It should be noted that the York Daily Record has had a change in ownership since the 2000 election. Dean Singleton, who also owns the Denver Post, bought the Daily Record from Phillip Buckner this year as part of a deal stemming from a joint operating agreement the Daily Record had with the other paper in York, Pa. -- the York Dispatch. (Yes, there are two newspapers in York.) The Dispatch is now owned by Buckner, though it's a shell of its former self. The Daily Record had always been a progressive voice. It used to be the Gazette & Daily, and it was so progressive that in 1964 it refused to accept ads on behalf of Barry Goldwater on the theory that Goldwater was as dangerous to America's health as cigarettes. So when you see that two papers have switched from Gore to Bush, it's because of the ownership change.

Daily record (circ: 43108)...
"Bush picked up Denver Post, the latter in a switch from Gore in 2000. William Dean Singleton, now the publisher of that paper, is known as a strong Bush supporter. His MediaNews Group also owns the Daily News in Los Angeles, which Singleton allowed to go for Kerry."
(My comment:Not worth fighting it in CA, is my guess)
Don't be sore losers, now...let's keep it honest and civil.

7. Has this made TV news? |
|
I'm wondering (hoping) most people will hear about it. There's that statistic that only 11% read newspapers and all.
If it does, perhaps it would have that "bandwagon effect" in voting.
