Thank you DU...
Without this site I think I would go nuts with rage and frustration. You see, I live just outside of Atlanta in the suburbs. As the election gets closer I see more "W'04", "W The President", and "Vietnam Vets against Kerry" stickers every day. I try to be optimistic and laugh knowing that Kerry will win in a few weeks, but it's still hard.

I saw one this morning that was kind of funny. It was a small hatchback that was in the process of being converted. It had fancy new rims and other crap that any teenager would love. It was recently painted with primer. It had two bumper stickers. One was a typical George Bush/Cheney 04 sticker, and the other was a "Vienam Vets against Kerry" sticker. I thought the second one was funny considering the driver was a young female(too young to have ever been in the military). All over the car were painted hateful messages about John Kerry, like "Kerry sucks" and "Kerry can eat me", as well as "Vote Bush" and some other crap. They also had the words "Fart Cans Suck" all over the car. What the hell does that mean? Anyways, it was disgusting. If I could have gotten close enough they definetly would have gotten the finger.

Anyways, thank you DU for bringing some sanity into my life. It can be really hard living in this reddest of red states.

One other thing, my wife and I did get invited to an election party last night. The women throwing the party is a Democrat. We are not all dumb and blind down here in the South.

1. Come to Southwest Georgia!!
A lot more Democrats here...but it's also rural and would probably bore you to death.

But we have a Democratic Congressman. And a Democratic President...so that makes life easier.

2. There's an AAR station in Atlanta now...
And I think Mike Malloy broadcasts from there. Are you able to pick that up? (AAR station is WWAA 1690 AM.)

AAR - along with DU - helps keep me sane.

4. I live in North Atlanta (Ralph Reed's neck of the woods - literally)
It is pretty bad here - especially over in Gwinnett County. In 2000, Bush won that one county by about the margin that he won the entire state!

5. Augusta
I'm from Augusta. It's gotta be just as bad if not worse. I'm going to enjoy looking at those stickers when we have a new President-elect.

and i feel your pain. There seems to be so many of us in the closet tho. I ran into a friend while i was out on the club scene saturday night, and he was relieved to find out I was voting for kerry as well. we had a long talk, he believes Martial Law will be in the cards for the next 4 years if bush wins and sadly he felt bush would. I asked him to check out DU and to check out Air Atlanta, and i really hope he does. he needs ot know there are a lot of us out here who haven't drunk the kool-aid.

8. Thanks for the responses...
I live just outside Gwinnett County. Fortunately I do get Air America. I've been listening in the car(since last month) and online since May. I agree. It sure will be fun to see all of those stickers after Kerry wins in a landslide.
