Rumsfeld April 12, 2003: "Extent of looting exaggerated"

"Declaring that freedom is "untidy," Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said Friday the looting in Iraq was a result of "pent-up feelings" ...

<clip>

He also asserted the looting was not as bad as some television and newspaper reports have indicated...

<clip>

Looting, he added, was not uncommon for countries that experience significant social upheaval. "Stuff happens," Rumsfeld said."

this morning, I remember hearing him say it. So I looked it up.

Enough to arm every evil pack of puppies on the planet (700,000+ pounds of it) twice over, and we're seeing goofy wolf ads telling us these jokers will keep us more protected.

Oh, and the inspectors warned that it had to be kept secured. You remember, the inspectors who were doing such a lousy useless job they had to be pulled out. So this bunch could go in and gaurd the oil wells.

BTW, here's John Kerry during the second debate:

"The president did not do what was necessary. Didn't bring in enough nations. Didn't deliver the help. Didn't close off the borders. Didn't even guard the ammo dumps. And now our kids are being killed with ammo right out of those dumps."
