Bush to the National Guard on "backdoor draft" in GMA interview...tough!
Bush denied that Guard and Reserve members are facing a "backdoor draft," saying, "People signed up for the Guard and the Reserves knowing that they could be called up in action." Bush then recounted his experience in Bangor, Maine meeting with Guard guys that were called up and "they were enthused."

________

I find Bush's cavalier treatment of the Nation Guard and Army Reserves abhorrent--this from a man who apparently did not fulfill his service in the Air National Guard--yet, somehow received an honorable discharge.

3. He's a disgusting cowardly ass.
I take solace from the fact that he will enter the history books as the worst president ever and I'll take pride in the fact that I've never voted for him...not even for governor.

4. Shades of George W.'s drug conviction policies, health care policies...
and every other policy associated with his own personal weaknesses: "Fuck everyone else: I get to skate! I'm more important than the rest of you losers!"

7. Yes. Chickenhawks usually feel that way.
I wonder if Jenna and Barbara were in the reserves if he would feel the same way? Somehow I doubt it. No skin off his ass if YOUR kid gets killed. They're "enthused!" :eyes: BULLSHIT!

8. To reiterate
Dubya received an "Honorary Discharge". He was accepted into the Guard because of who his daddy was. Because of who his daddy was, he was allowed to serve pretty much at his convenience. When he decided that it was no longer fun, he simply quit. Then, again, because of who his daddy was, he was given a discharge but it was strictly an Honorary thing. No military officers career ever suffered because he did nice things for the politically well connected and few are more connected than Dubya's daddy.
Has anyone ever seen his "Honorable Discharge"? Has anyone ever seen his DD 214? All military records have yet again been released but has anyone had a look at these two documents?
