My respect for the print media has increased
I've been flabbergasted by all the newspapers around the country which have endorsed John Kerry. Not all of them are "reliable" Dem papers either and many papers which endorsed Bush in 2000 are switching to Kerry. This is a good sign.

I've been impressed by the editorials of some of these papers and how they have called Bush "incompetent" and a "disaster" in many cases--some of these editorials could have been written by DU.

Here are some of the endorsements:

As for the televised media--they are still pretty pathetic. This morning I made the mistake of putting on the Today show only to hear the reporter traveling with Kerry talking about how Kerry isn't doing as well as Gore was in Pennsylvania and how black voters aren't enthused about him. I switched it off. Most polls I've seen show Kerry pulling ahead in Pa.

1. So has mine. From utter contempt to disdain. Where have most
of them been since the 2000 election and the subsequent coup? Let's hope the current outpouring is yet another example of rats jumping ship.

2. Its hard to understand the dichotomy - the Ed pages vs. news coverage
But because of the way most papers are structured the two different departments might as well be two different papers. Report RW news and have a middle of the road editorial department. I AM impressed by the number of papers going for Kerry - but I do wish they could've reported NEWS for the last 4 years.

3. but, FINALLY, the smarmysmirk is getting a PERFORMANCE REVIEW
in these editorials, and that review ain't pretty -- these endorsements may just be the best answer for the undecideds; here's hoping the ship of democracy will actually dock on nov. 2nd, and we gotta work and believe it's going to be at OUR port

5. factcheck.org called media to task this morning on
a radio interview (CBS radio news)...said the reason his site is being swamped so badly is that the real media has failed to present the election as news instead of as a side show attraction..the lack of credibility in the media is self made.........doh, whatta shock.
