Idiotic Faren-hype 911 ads...they ain't workin'
I was sitting with my Bush-supporting mother-in-law yesterday when one of those "Faren-hype 911" ads came on...the one with Ed Koch. (who everyone recognizes and remembers...right?)

"I wish they would quite pushing that stupid Michael Moore film..." she said.

I chuckled and said..."Yeah..."

I didn't have the heart to tell her that the name of the movie is "Farenheit 911" - Not being a college educated person...I'm sure she had no idea of the Bradbury connection/novel. Which is why she missed the (apparently all too clever) satire in the "hype-911" movie title...

I think they may have outsmarted themselves with these ads...the names of the movies are too similar for idiots tell them apart. And without that predisposition to hate Moore, the ads make little sense and make no point. In fact, they actually sound more like ads FOR Moores film...

It was nice to see Republican dollars being wasted right in front of your eyes!!!

1. I noticed that too.

3. OMG, I noticed the same thing!
I had a friend who is voting libertarian (doesn't like either candidate, but voted for bush in 2000) call me up and bitch about those commercials. She said "I don't really CARE what Ed Koch thinks of that stupid movie!" I drew her out a bit and figured out she was talking about the Faren-hype movie but she thought it was about F 9/11!!!!

ROFL!

4. The day the REAL F9/11 was released to video...
I was at Best Buy, and they had Faren Hype for sale as well, a blueshirt (employee) saw my stack of 3, and chummed up to me. He was getting some URLs from me (DU, Buzzflash, Media Matters, Tom Payne, Truthout, etc.)...another blueshirt walked up with this abortion of a DVD with a customer in tow, and asked what the difference was. My blueshirt was brilliant. He said "That's the Republican video making allegations of Moore lying in his film, to protect the President" I didn't have to say a word. He was great! He even went in the stockroom to try to find me Outfoxed...I didn't even ask for it. He just volunteered that they had it. He was sold out, but I was thankful for his effort.

5. Telling lies more than enough times also make people sick and tired.
I think they have overdone it with the lies about Kerry and smearing.
Seeing the reports of the soldiers being killed in Iraq and Afghanistan rolling in every day, sometimes twice a day has to make the smearing run thin.

6. People - including me - have confused the two /here/!
Edited on Mon Oct-25-04 12:26 PM by LoZoccolo
Someone mentioned that overstock.com was sending copies to the troops, and for a bit I thought "good!" because I had confused the two, and some of the responses indicated that other people had confused the two as well. Now if it confuses us, you know it's confusing other people.
