Just met Gen. Wes Clark!!
Edited on Mon Oct-25-04 01:16 PM by gulfcoastliberal
I was at the courthouse for early voting in Pensacola and after I cast my ballot Wes was on the courthouse stairs encouraging everyone to get all they know to vote early.

I got to shake his hand and I expressed all OUR gratitude for what he has done for the party and KE during this campaign.

PS: Pensacola is in the Florida panhandle, an extreme fundy freeper stronghold. I'd say close to 50%, if not more, of the voters in queue and queuing up had Kerry pins on. I put one on the front of my ballcap. Very good news, the line was long and just getting longer when I left. Very busy, very good early turnout.

5. Coming here tomorrow
Clark is coming to our town tomorrow and will give a speech across the street from our City Hall. After his speech he is going to lead everyone across the street to vote early. Darn, I voted today.

12. Kerry's Iraq critique is taken straight from Wes
and when he started to go after * on the war, his poll numbers turned around. The General has made a huge contribution, that's what I'd tell him if I ever get the chance to meet him.

13. :o)
When he was up here in Anchorage campaigning with Tony Knowles, I started sneaking up to the stage as he was about to wrap up his speech.

The second he stepped off the stage, I grabbed him and layed a HUGE hug on him !!!! No way I was going to miss that opportunity!!

 :loveya:  :loveya:  :loveya:

16. Hell yeah
He's one of the toughest bastards in the country. He was rapelling down hills in warzones just 5 years ago.

21. The man is not "Short"....
5'9" is not "Short". This man is sooooo Fine, it wouldn't matter if he was 5'5".

I Love the General and his truthtelling!

Kerry owes him a lot....and so does this nation!

23. I envy you
I've had the pleasure of meeting him 3 time and have some fabulous pictures. We were trying to get him to call while jim Rassmann was here and I was put on hold while his secretary was taking a call from the "General". He is the most inspiring man I have ever met. He says what he means and means what he says. He is very gracious, he took time to talk with my dad who could not even vote for him in the primary state we were volunteering in. I can honestly say that I have as much respect for John Kerry now also, listening to the support of Veterans for Kerry and hearing them in person even makes me have more respect for the courageous man who is our candidate.
