For those that have doubts on where are going with the Polls. I would like to mention, the polls to me are meanless.. Think of it this way.. What are polls? Who are these people? Why are they spending so much time? Also, do you think anyone today would work so hard, make so many calls, and do it for nothing? Who pays these people? There are no sponsors (advertisments) who pay these pollesters that I know of. In today's time, I don't know anyone )big firms) that would makes all these calls to voters to find who they are viting for, for no fees...
To me, I think it's all a scam to get people riled and eager to vote..
Just my views.

1. The polling is paid for by news organizations |
|
or by the campaigns, or by independent groups, or by the parties. You're right, nobody does polling for free. Except maybe some colleges.

polls are bullshit. Look at crowd sizes, lawn signs and turnout. Best indicators out there. The polls serve one function today, to get better ratings for cable news.

3. WELCOME TO DU! And I agree completely |

We are registering new voters at a rate of 9 to 1 against the pubs. None of these new voters are showing up on their stupid little polls. We are going to make them all look like the idiots they are.
IT'S GOING TO BE A LANDSLIDE BABY !!!!!!!!!!!

I don't take the polls seriously either . Notice how they never tell you anything about the number of people polled , the demographic of the people polled and etc . And then you have to think about the number of people without landlines these days .
BTW : Welcome to the DU :) :hi:

9. Damn, you see CNN? Their touting these latest poll like Bush.. |
|
won already!! The absurdity...it's the LAST DITCH effort by Big Media to sway the public against Kerry, and make it look like its all over.
They are desperate and scared!!! The real polls from the reality based community will tell a much different story.

The best question: Why bother reporting the polls AT ALL? Why not report on what the candidates' platforms are, and what they are actually doing and have done in the past, and let the voters make up their own minds? Polls sway sheep....

12. The news media tries to keep us focused on the "horse race" |
|
while ignoring the candidates positions on the issues. Polls are just a tool for the media to keep us uninformed while entertained.
That being said, I know there are a lot of people whose mood swings back and forth with the polls.
BTW - Welcome to DU!
