Regarding Clinton: We will learn his value in a few days
When the post-Philly polls come out, we will know whether Clinton is helping, hurting or making no difference to the current campaign. I hope he's helping, but will have to wait and see.

He sure did look and sound great up there.

1. BJ notwithstanding
Repubs never had it so good as they did under Clinton....they've GOT to be longing for the "good 'ol days". There has to be some nostalgia for him.

2. In a few days???? I think it is obvious what his value is!
When did Shrub EVER draw an audience of 120,000, on a weekday ,during work hours???

8. It was inspiring, wasn't it?
I am hoping he will also move the polls. Millions of people saw him, I am sure. And millions more will see the clips all over the news.

I hope his appearances will work with these friggin "security moms," whatever the heck that is, to convince them to make a wise choice. They voted for Clinton before... They should be with Kerry now.

3. I don't think the national polls will indicate anything
the key will be if he makes a difference in the states he visits. I see no scenario where he hurts Kerry.

6. You don't think we get a bounce from this??
Pres. Clinton was on every station I could find. And his clips are being replayed to death. Maybe its just me, but every time that guy talks, he makes sense and he's interesting to listen to.

In 2000, I remember a lot of Dems saying Gore shouldn't use him. But I think that was dumb, but of course I have no proof. Just my opinion. But I think we will get something positive out of this. Maybe only a point or two, but that can make a big difference.

5. And did you catch this?
"The Times also noted that "His ratings were even higher among independents, swing voters and those who had not yet committed to a candidate, precisely the voters the Kerry campaign hopes he can reach this week.""

On NPR today, I believe I heard them say that Clinton's appearance might help "rally the base" (another dismissive RW talking point) and I recall thinking at the time that there were a lot of independents who liked him a lot more than *. Glad to see there is evidence of this.
